Watched this video back in 2014, months before my driver’s test. Believe it or not, this video helped me out so much that I passed the parallel parking part with ease. Definitely showing this to my sister when she turns 15 or 16 before her road test 👍🏻💯

this is the best parallel parking video. i was taught like this and it always works but if you ever decide to park in a really tight spot it is done the same but a little different. use this technique and once you have done the 3 steps when you are halfway into the space, go forward and turn all the way to the right and then go backwards and turn all the way to the left. go back and forth until you are in the space. once i went back and forth 10 times because the space was really small and i didn't bang any car but it wasn't worth it because the car in front and in back had like no space to get out because of me and this usually happens in the city when the spot is really tight but it shouldn't happen often if you don't live in the city

This video tutorial is 11 years from now (March 2023), and yet, this is one of the best tutorial for parallel parking. Some tutorial are pretty useless for some beginners. Like instead of using the right mirror, others would advice that when the front bumper is aligned to the rear bumper of the car in front. Like, WTH? How would a beginner would know that? This is exactly what I've done ever since. No outside of the car reference, all inside the car reference.

I have been practicing a few different methods on parallel parking in the last 1 month in order to make comparison on the final result. I find this method gives the most satisfactory result. Last night I did parallel park using this method. The result (with one attempt, no correction at all) was I left space about 1m to the front and 70cm from behind. It is the closest space I have left during my parking experience so far.

BEST THING EVER. 100% WORKS I PASSED WITHOUT EVEN PRACTICE ON THIS AND ONLY WATCHING THIS VIDEO.
@aprilrosenblum13 жыл бұрын
Thank you!!! This works. The steps were a little hard to remember so I invented a mnemonic for it: Right triangle, full recovery, lineup for the left. Right triangle (back of car in triangle to turn right), full recovery (full view of car to start recovering back to a straight line), lineup for the left (mirror lined up with the car's corner to start turning left).

The best way is to pull up beside the car in front so your shoulder is even with the rear tire of the car. Crank the wheel to the right as far as you can while slowly reversing. Then stop at 45 degrees. Then, crank the wheel to the left as far as you can and finish your parallel park. This is most effective as

jukijunk how many times right did you turn when parallel with the car?
@jukijunk10 жыл бұрын
Bria Trogdon After I role up alongside the car, I turn the wheel all the way to the right before reversing in. After my car reaches like a 40 degree angle, I just stop and turn the wheel back straight, role back just a little bit and then turn my wheel all the way to the left. From their on, that is something you just have to feel to straighten your car out. You have to get use to feeling out the wheel as oppose to trying to remember how many times you turn it, I use to try to remember like that and it just makes it more confusing.Even if you fail parallel parking and driving backwards behind a curb, you can still pass the test tho! LOL

Guys, don't panic. At the end of the day this is a GENERAL technique. It does not apply to your car EXACTLY and it's best to have general overall sense of your car. Namely, learn to look at your mirrors and learn to know where you car is in general in space. THEN knowing a technique like this you can utilize it more effectively. For example: Don't think "I have to be 42 degrees from that point and then.." but this like "I have to be close to that, then turn like that and then move there.." etc.

It seems to me: Folks that have troubles parallel parking don't know where their corners are. Often there is a lot more room than is realized. This also spills over to any parking. It might help to practice having an assistant outside the vehicle to show exactly where those corners are. This is especially true with those behemoths that are popular these days that people haven't a clue how to do any maneuver other than straight ahead.
