When the camera did a closeup of the judge's face, you can see it in her eyes that she's holding back tears. My god, my heart aches for all of these families. May they find comfort and someday peace in their hearts and minds. What they have gone through is something that no one should experience, they have to live reliving the pain and sorrow of the absence of their children.

She has kids and is thinking what if this was her kids murdered. With that said, she was not suppose to let her emotions get in the way as a judge she suppose to not get emotionally involved in any case.. She had a unfair bias towards the defense and was so upset and angry when Cruz did not get the death penalty... she was forced to resign as judge as this job is not her cup of tea. She can go back to presecuting cases.

They're better off just extorting him and constantly making his life a living hell. Trust me he's not going to like prison at all if he thought high school was bad... Kids like this get taken advantage of, unfortunately I know all about it I've been to prison. Sex offenders and rats get it the worst. Exactly! The excuses that people keep making for this calculated killer is ridiculous! No one told him not to show emotion! He simply does not care and has zero remorse for what he’s done! His plan was carried out and well executed even down to this sentence. He used reverse psychology! He wanted to live all along! He knew that they were not going to give him the death penalty! He’s a young white boy and he counted on that being a favoring factor. He knew his blaming the mother who gave him away to a great home at birth, the fake sob stories even after having more help and privileges than most and wearing the choir boy attire was going to pay off in his favor. This is ridiculous and Florida needs to change the number to the majority vote and not allow a few to derail just death sentences.

@jess_jeff75492 жыл бұрын
I agree, they lost their children.. which tears families apart.. but I hope they will always have each other to lean on. That's a support system that no therapist, psychologist, drug or drink can ever provide. The hate and need for justice has got them through this far, only to be let down by rude defense and a jury who felt too guilty to have 'blood on their hands.' Immediately after the trial, when emotions were high, almost every family said 'if this is not a death penalty case, then what is?' I am so surprised the judge let him continue, I've watched judges not let the victim statements address the defendant what so ever. This was the first impact statement I watched. I bet I have a lot of crying to do tonight.
