I'm just watching this again after really loving it a few years ago. I still do. I remember why I liked it so much: the movements were fluid, efficient, not flashy. We seem to be addicted to the big moves now. When I first saw this, I thought, "that's something I could train myself to do", and I did so. I may never be as good as some of the women in this video, but I'll keep going.

Look, I do Parkour (I'm actually recovering now from a parkour injury) and this is still parkour, despite perhaps not being people doing death-defying stunts. SO, those who were going to leave a dislike, how about you leave this page untouched, back out of KZbin, shut down your account and proceed to do the following with your life when you are under the misinterpretation that many of you can do better than these girls.

I like PK Newkid's response. I like the fluidity of movement here, with emphasis on that, not on how many tricks one can cram into a video as is kind of the norm with male practitioners. I like that everything was kept simple and efficient...fundamentals all the way. But seriously, for shoes ladies? You couldn't have just sent a picture?

Correction, people do understand the difference between Parkour and Freerunning, FREE movement that one chooses to express based off what they are comfortable with......so if your going to get frustrated over a little thing like that chances are you need a review. Why would you even to try and segregate Freerunners and Tracuers. Parkour and Freerunning are both natural, they both take just as much skill, practice, time, energy, etc. If your a true traceur or freerunner you would respect both. :D

I did a taster day in Leeds a few years ago, and just loved it. This is so inspiring, I'd love to have a local group - I've looked into going to London but it's a difficulty getting there. I'd love to do more, and am working on my strength training and getting back into CV after a tendon injury, but I want to learn the techniques properly. Can anyone share any tips please? The only group I can find in my area isn't PG and it has an age limit of something like 18-35 - it seems mostly 18 year old guys doing flips and stuff, which is beyond me (at the min! :-) ) I'd like to do something achievable and less intimidating. Thanks for any advice!

Actually really enjoyed this, I'm seeing a lot of hate in the comments, Anyone else with a passion for parkour/freerunning will appreciate all skill levels, to everyone out there hating obviously you just want to see the "awesome" and "cool" big stunts and hard movements, but appreciate what parkour is, and the basics of it, it doesn't have to be crazy to be good!

@lovedolars No, one of the main ideas of parkour is that it's done entirely with your body and surrounding environment; many people don't wear shoes at all. All you really need in them is that they be comfortable and have a good grip.

I think some of you are forgetting the difference between freerunning and parkour- parkour is about getting from point a to point b the fasted... Freerunning is more showy and gymnastics-like and involves more freedom. They look similar but they are not the same. These girls are doing Parkour
@TheArrgh
@TheArrgh 15 жыл бұрын
Good vid. Good work. Good moves. It's nice to see a little bit less showy stuff. Efficiency is the name of the game in parkour, and this was pretty refreshing - very stripped-down to somewhat basic practices. Getting over, under, and around obstacles, without big flips or fancy tricks. If you do stuff like this, though, sneakers are not the best idea. Get something much more like a foot glove. Our feet are shaped like they are for a reason...flat soles and so forth take away from that.
@AckAttack77

You also misunderstand, as I didn't say she loved shoes. I never said anything about NEW shoes either. She wears her gym shoes because they fit her, she can run in them, and they aren't worn down enough to warrant buying a new pair. She's not a tomboy, but she doesn't obsess and gawk and shoes when she sees them. For the commercial, I meant it was ridiculous that all of them ran there just to see a pair of heels.

correction: thats how HE came up with parkour. parkour is used for getting from one point to another as fast as possible. parkour was used in alot in world war 1 and then in world war 2. parkour is used in the army (another place women should'nt be) mostly the french army. nowadays people mostly do parkour to stay in shape, have fun, and testing yourself.
