I've watched many "parkour" videos in the last little while! And as someone commented earlier, many are just clips of the base moves, or tricking. I love that you guys are purists, and show just how it's meant to be! You guys are really inspirational!
@Bestjungmin0211 жыл бұрын
I like how it has running in it. Because in a lot of other parkour videos, they're just showing only the "parkour moves". I like how this video has some actual "use" of parkour:)

This was, as always, parkour, literally. Great job guys. Awesome video editing and camera angles as well! Like others have touched on: running is part of parkour and sometimes you don't need to navigate over 40 walls, staircases, parking garages, and water fountains in order to get where you're going.

An extended period of time. This is the most accurate portrayal of parkour I've ever seen. People just in general don't have the discipline to train the boring aspects of parkour as well as the exciting ones.

This one has a completely different vibe to the other parkour literally videos. I disagree with the comments about too much running. Running is after all, a way of getting between two points efficiently and with a lot of parkour videos that aspect of parkour is missed out because it's 'not entertaining', although as a former amateur athlete I find watching different peoples running styles fascinating. I love your videos. They inspire me and I learn new things from you every time.

no flips, no tricks, minimal vaults, and actual running... I couldn't be happier, I dislike watching "parkour" videos because they start doing gymnastic tumbles after one vault or flip off a ledge, that's awesome and all mad respect! But this is parkour, everything else is freerunning.

You represent the other extreme of parkour videos. When I take a look at the ones you share, these are the typical "parkour without movement" videos where numerous pointless jumps are glued together and where the traceur stops each time after a jump or two or a small series of jumps. I think this video here is more advanced. When I started out with parkour I didn't run at all. I just trained moves without changing the location. After a while I learned moving from one place to another.

Ok, I completely get the point of the video and I agree that parkour is more than vaults and jumps and that running is also at the core of it. But I feel like the other videos showed that pretty well without making me feel like anyone could do it. In the others running was shown often and I felt it looked amazing. This felt like watching an artist draw a stick figure. It just didn't show enough skill to tell the kind of work that was put in and therefore felt very simple.

To people saying "too much running", that IS the point L'Inconsolable is trying to make. Check out his facebook page and other videos. He is always talking about how ridiculous "hurr durr extreme freerunners" look, and through this video, he is illustrating the point that parkour can be beautiful, minimalist, zen flow.

This guy, naim, used to train with a guy with the youtube channel of LeVietnamienVolant. Naim filmed and edited those videos and you have to take into account that Naim broke his wrist and it cannot bend even 90 degrees anymore. I love his videos because every time he tries to do things differently. This video may not seem as exciting because of the very unique camera angles, but really it's just as packed with moves as the other parkour literally videos.

Jesus Christ people. I'm seeing so many comments about how there's "too much running" and "not enough parkour". Are you kidding me? Running is not only part of parkour, it is arguably the most vital part. It should make up a vast majority of your training because even though we choose to train in obstacle dense areas, if we used parkour in a situation where we really needed it (ie. being chased), a majority of areas aren't that dense in obstacles. You would literally be outrunning someone for a

I think I worded that wrong. What I meant was that almost all of the shots were from a cinematic angle ( alot of them low on ground ), which didn't really allow for an overall look of the movement he was doing. I would have much preferred a continuous scene from a higher angle where you could see every movement he took instead of much shorter snippets of his feet touching the ground or his hands grabbing the top of the wall.

@Grayfirre11 жыл бұрын
I'm sure there are a few that may not realize that. But as someone who does realize that I have to say the complaint about "too much running" is a bit justified. I'd never say this isn't parkour, but I would say that it isn't too interesting to watch. The same way I wouldn't expect to see parkour video where a guy only does push ups, I was not expecting this video to be such a simple run. I feel I could easily do this run, and that makes it harder for me to appreciate the skill he has.

that's a necessary condition, but not sufficient. I think that someone who can't translate his wisdom to action is not wise enough, that he hasn't bypassed his mental obstacles yet to get him moving consistently.

I couldn't bring myself to liking this one... I understand that running is a major part of parkour, but is a video that is 90% running interesting? Really, it is not. Just as watching somebody do 15 minutes of quadrupedal on a rail does not constitute as an interesting video, this doesn't either.
