Parkrun 131 took me to Rushcliffe Parkrun in Nottinghamshire, located on the site formerly occupied by Rushcliffe Main Colliery, it’s is now transformed into a literal oasis of nature and wildlife.
The Parkrun itself is one of the oldest in the UK, having been established in 2012 and now regularly sees close to 500 runners each week taking on the 5k two lap course.
The course itself is run exclusively on gravel paths and starts by the play area and skate park, passing the lake on the route around the parks perimeter. There is mild elevation here, probably just enough to keep it from being ranked higher for speed amongst all UK Parkruns.
Facilities at the park are good, with plenty of parking available as well as a cafe and public toilets.
Parkrun Ranking are taken from the 'Power of 10' website and compiled by Tim Groese.
