Love how when they go to the lakehouse Ron is already outside in his kayak. Surely this means he is the only one from the office who knew about the Lakehouse as he A) doesn't need to hear the rules and B) either stored a kayak there or rowed there from his own private shack, meaning he knew the way.

I love to think that he and Donna are on the same page when it comes to privacy and respect of one's property that he wouldn't even need to know the rules. If anything, I love to imagine that all he saw were the Canoes, and he'd stay there for the whole week, never needing to step foot in the house😂

Incorrect, the funniest 5 seconds in television history is when the Freeman family performed an exorcism/beating to attorney Robert Dubois in Boondocks, which happened shortly after Father Reverend Uncle Ruckus (no relation) tried to exorcise by having the black spirit do the impossible:Read.

More white people should read Ebony (when it was still in print). It's just news/culture/entertainment stories that are centered around Black people. I feel like a lot of people miss the fact that Ron isn't supposed to be some idealized beacon of masculinity and liberitarianism, but a satirization of how absurd those are when taken to their extremes. Ron feels that on a deep level, bc he had to learn that lesson the hard way, himself! Dealing with the Tammys and his mother his whole damn life. Finally he got a decent human being as a girlfriend and it took him a minute to adjust to happiness. He was finally letting go of the dramatic toxic witches and embracing happiness with a good woman. So he knew EXACTLY the right advice to give Donna. And she recieved it from Ron better than she would have from anyone else, because Ron never deals useless platitides. Once they developed Donna’s personality the clothes just followed suit and her outfits and makeup became more glamorous. @@unhommequicourt I agree. The whole point of that comment seems to be "they made a big woman look nice." As if it's unheard of for a larger person to be attractive. I think the best thing the show did regarding Donna was never mentioning her size at all. Her size had absolutely nothing to do with her character, and I loved that.
@LaFlor718
@LaFlor718 Жыл бұрын
@@Kindred04ok i agree with op because a lot of times when you watch shows, when they actually cast larger women, they do not get any fashionable looks or they look gaudy and outlandish. With Donna they really took care to dress her based on the characters personality. They gave her flattering hairstyles as the seasons went on, made sure the garments were flattering without being over the top, added statement jewelry and kept the makeup tasteful. Sadly, most shows do not do this. The characters are usually one note background characters with no style or look like Mimi from the Drew Carrey show. In this case Donna was the most fashionable and never looked unkempt or sloppy or boring. It’s not to say that larger women can’t be stylish, it’s to say most shows don’t care enough to show that.

No, you're misinterpreting their comment that way in order to appear offended so you can virtue signal and be perceived as a better person than them. But since you want to act obtuse, what they're actually saying is that in many shows and productions, costume designers often don't provide larger actors and actresses with fashionable and flattering clothes, hair, and makeup. This is an issue that larger actresses and performers have discussed for decades as an issue. They were simply appreciating that "Parks and Recreation" showed respect to both the actress and the character by doing the opposite. Nice try, but don't you get tired of playing the victim? Is the urge to shame others and force sympathy because of your supposed struggles really that irresistible? Let me guess, you’re also a white woman. People like you are finally being held accountable for years of getting away with nonsense, and no one is buying it anymore. So, you've resorted to two tactics: creating new ways to claim victimhood and aligning yourself with actual victims to shield yourself from criticism. This behavior reveals your manipulative, racist, and bigoted tendencies, and people are seeing through it. :)

I absolutely adore Donna, but I always thought it was strange that she initially thought Joe was boring. I thought she didn't like drama. I personally love a simple life, and I guess I am a bit boring. Having a partner whose idea of happiness is staying home, watching TV, eating pasta, and having sex sounds like heaven to me.
@JoseSerrato0420
@JoseSerrato0420 Жыл бұрын
I don't think she likes drama in the sense of conflict, but more like an exciting story to tell. She liked dating Joe but it gave her stability and predictability which she found extremely boring, which makes sense since she's a thrill seeker and loves spontaneous adventures. She also has a very tumultuous family, so she's very accustomed to a life not knowing how outlandish a loved one would act at any given moment. So Ron describing it as drama is pretty much him saying "you don't hate the stability, you hate that you think it's either-or so you choose bad partners because then it feels like you're in control" Cuz Ron does like the life the Tammy's forced upon him, he just doesn't like the fact that he has no control nor say in it. That's why the relationship that ended up working for him was one where she stated plainly how she felt, what she wanted, and gave him the choice to take on those responsibilities.

@Kindred04 just to add, there's nothing wrong with a 'boring' life. There's a lot of people that would love the predictability of that kind of life. Extravagance is something that I find boring and "fluffy" for stuff that could've been personal and heart-opening. People that travel to find experiences seem sad because they have the money to travel across the world to see stuff that happens in their own city.

I feel like it’s less about drama and more about her not feeling like the settling down type. Throughout the show, she is shown as a huge extrovert who prefers going out, meeting new people, doing shots, and smoking cigars with random dudes at the club before hooking up with both of them and moving on. All of her slogans about how she lives her life are things like “treat yo self!” and “use him, abuse him, and lose him.” She’s a club rat - they tend to view staying in with the same person every night as boring.

Ron being enthusiastically curious about the hunting game only to get upset is relatable as hell to me lol Plus Donna being hilarious as always.
