The steering was not aligned after they put on the leveling kit as you guys can see in the video. But I am happy to report the dealership did pay to have it aligned at my local dealership once I got home and now it drives perfect. How they forgot to align it? Your guess is as good as mine. On the new 5th gens you normally do have to align them if the level was done correctly. I got a 2.5” level in my and it was never aligned and it drives true and straight. Also be careful with offset/tires pointing past the fenders. My black 5th gens paint is destroyed from just gravel roads. Great looking truck tho! You’ll love everything about it other than the paint quality!

From my experience with my 15 Laramie and a 20 Laramie.. any leveling kit must have an adjustable track bar... if not, when you lift it pulls the front axle to the driver's side about a ¼".. meaning that your front axle isn't centered under the truck or in line with rear axle. Check out Thuren they know everything about the Rams. Just my 2 cents, it's not a fix that can be done with an alignment. Love the truck man

Any dark color will easily show damage. Lighter the color, the more forgiving the paint is.

Bought the exact same truck but in mega cab configuration. Drove 24 hours from California to Louisiana. Once there, like you, found some scuffs and scratches that I was not happy about. But considering the drive, the sweetness of the truck and the hospitality of the dealer I drove off the lot 70 grand out the door. Would have been a 90 thousand dollar truck in California.

I've got a black 2020 3500 H.O. SRW Limited w/ the Night package. I had some swirling and scratching as well(as you say, all 3 brands suffer from this). I was super upset because I actually ordered my truck with the exact options I wanted and waited 4 months for it. But my dealer took care of me considerably, especially after I almost walked away from it. My truck rides and drives like a dream. But I didn't want to chance anything with the CP4.2 pump and got the CP3 kit from Industrial. But your 2021 should be good to go since Ram went back to CP3. Those are swirls from the defects that they fixed going down the finesse line. Very common. You can fix with a 2000 grit MIRKA sander and then polish it out. Good buy!

I just bought the same model yesterday. Only difference is that mine is a 2019 Ram 2500 HD Laramie Crew Cab 6.4L Hemi Gas. Running lights and exterior look identical (minus the leveling kit and tires - I'll get that soon). The interior is identical as well. This is my 4th Ram. Love these trucks! Only thing changing on the Ford Super Duty interior is the 12" screen. Everything else is relatively the same in materials, no seat changes, etc. Was disappointed to find out it's not getting the new F150 interior which is a lot nicer. Current '19 F250 driver here probably switching to Ram in the next week or so.

I do my own service on my 6.7 cummins only costs me $150 canadian. Oil,oil filter,fuel filters. I run Baldwin filters. Over 200,000 miles still no oil consumption. 10,000 mile oil changes.

Those scratches look like the kinds you get by using a soft touch automatic car wash. my 2017 durango rt has them, but they buffed out pretty easy

I apologize that the truck had really bad defects on the paint. I know it’s a thing with Rams that they use that special coating on their brand-new trucks. The 2500 Laramie with the 6.7L Cummins is such a phenomenal truck. The 6.7L Cummins is such a beautiful motor. The biggest reason why I love the Cummins is the engine brake. It sounds so good. I did like the 6.7L Powerstroke until finding out how bad that cruise control is. So I would definitely go for a Ram.

Black is very hard almost impossible to keep scratches out I work at a dealership and black is constantly a problem because the factory tapes and covers the vehicle which makes small scratches so do not feel bad it is a common problem.

In my opinion the clear that come from factory on all the new rides is crap. You pay that much for truck you expect it to be new and unblemished. Dealers now days don’t look at it that way, that’s the reason it was dirty when you arrived, they were hoping you would say looks good and they would says we will get it cleaned up. I just bought a new 2021 GMC AT4 3.0 Duramax and love it. But all those safety features like adaptive cruise control and lane assist I turn off , not fond of them. I know how to drive just fine on my own. Lane assist and adaptive cruise cannot respond to certain situations, such as a hazard in the road that may need to be avoided but now your steering wheel doesn't want to allow you to turn sharp and dodge the hazard or object. Some people may like those features but they are not for me. I turn them off.

Mine also came like that from factory and I had already bought it, they days were rainy so I couldn’t see anything till the sun came out and I was able to see imperfection more than normal all around the truck and this paint scratches easily too

I had a 2019 Laramie, ruby red . Paint job is very cheap. There still building HD in old factory in Mexico. 1500 is built in new factory with much better paint job. There was plans to move factory to us . But covid has definitely effected there plans.

The new Ram’s interior is considered luxury compared to all other trucks. And honestly Ram’s interior is better than most new cars and SUV’s interior. If I was a betting man I would bet that dealership knew about all the paint scratches/damage. That’s the reason why they didn’t have it looking like a mirror for you when showed up to get it.

I have it on my f150 it works great, must've either been an issue with yours or maybe because the f250 being heavier or steering style doesn't work as it does in a lighter truck( my f150 has electronic steering/no straight axle track bar action).
