Paris I rewatched your video on .. 'BLadder retraining after prostate cancer treatment'. One year ago. I have three more treatments to go for radiation with a total of 44. I always had a problem peeing at night. Prior to radiation. The radiation HAS INCREASED my urgency when I'm sleeping. Now I go every 20 minutes to a half hour AND VERY difficult to START and when I do it BURNS tremendously! And if I'm LUCKY two tablespoons comes out! I am ready to stop all treatment immediately I only have three more to go. My doctor says... "NO we have to COMPLETE the plan. I told her... " I think we have enough radiation down there." LETS STOP!! Anyway she says take A flomaxe twice a day and take some ibuprofen. That was HER answer! Anyway my question is this: How did you make out finally? And am I going to be in for a long long ride with my urine problem? I have urgency and at night time retention problems! Please reply soon as possible Paris. I watched all of your videos and most of them I saw.... TWICE!!!!

Hey Rick- it must be exhausting to be up so many times at night. I am usually up 3 or 4 times a night to pee- but it was more often while receiving the radiation treatment and for weeks afterwards. My radiation oncologist also prescribed FloMax but I didn't see an improvement with it. I think it is inevitable that there will be some irritation of the bladder and nearby nerves with the radiation treatment. And for me it got worse as the treatment went on. But I wouldn't want to quit so close to the end. I think as we age some systems just aren't going to work as well as they did when we were young- even without a major illness. I know people who are worse off than me so I try to focus on counting blessings. Some days (and nights) that can be hard to do. Hope things start improving for you soon.

@parristx thanks for your reply Paris. What I'm thinking the retention was getting progressively worse 3 days ago. I would think that out of concern of urinary retention that the doctor would say okay stop we don't want to give any more radiation. Because a side effects of retention could be devastating for me. With a catheter and all. And where do they come up with these numbers anyway Paris? 44 treatments to me and 39 for the guy before me. I really think that these next three treatments should be stopped in order to um PREVENT worsening U retention. But I did take one flomax at 4pm and then another one around 9:00 p.m. before bed and it seemed to work!

Love your channel, I’m curious about your theory that somehow 140 is too high a spike post eating. Is that something specific to you? That’s quite a normal spike, it’s more about recovery and how long that stays there. I do not believe there is anything at all wrong there. And oats and chia with some protein powder and berries is basically my meal every morning.
