This is a question to you FliteTest since you tested it, or anyone knowledgeable enough to answer. My Bebop (brand new with SkyController) have on two occasions just rebooted in midflight, shut everything down and just flipped over dead. No warnings, no indications, no bad batteries, even the log just cuts off like it was nothing (at 60m+ altitude/23% battery). Parrot claims this to be because of cold (-12c and -1c on the occasions) and wants me to try again in warm dry weather, but that would mean any crashes will no longer be in soft snow. I've flown several times with no issues, only thing in common on the crashes is that they were both from 10-12 meters or higher and I recall their drones having a sensor for landings up to about that height. Also they both happened when transitioning from hovering to forward movement. I'm all out of ideas and I dread the day my quad is going bellyflop into the pavement and Parrot says it's all my fault so no guarantee. Any clues as to what might cause this?
@lisarenee35058 жыл бұрын
+Ajzer85 I've been reading about similar problems, including a bad habit of fly-aways, ever since this POS was released to the market. I was going to get one, but after reading about all the problems it has, I decided to spend a bit more & go with the Yuneec Typhoon 500+ 4K.

As a VR enthusiast who backed the Rift on Kickbackstartpledgesitethingyer this is how I imagined the Rift being used for FPV :P A 180 degree lens and then rotate everything in software, removes the latency of servos or whatever on the craft, as well as removing that weight. I would like to see this as a separate camera module for any copter, but this is exciting as well :3

After following the instructions to the letter I took Bebop outside on a calm day and sat it down and hit takeoff. It shot up to about 6 feet and hovered perfectly. I was controlling it with my Ipad which for awhile worked really well and I was thinking this thing is cool. Then suddenly it started gaining altitude for no reason and I immediately tried to bring it down and it responded by shooting skywards at warp speed and there was nothing I could do to stop it. I tried the return home button to no avail. I had the maximum altitude set at 6 meters so it should not have went above that height. I looked skyward and I eventually lost sight of it. Thinking it lost and my $500 down the drain I started looking around and to amazingly it had fallen back to earth upside on the lawn about 300 yards away from me. Fortunately it wasn't damaged but rather than risk losing my $500 next time I took it back to Best Buy. It is possible it lost the Wifi connection because in testing often times it would lose the connection but it should have returned home. I noticed another fellow had the same problem so this is not an isolated case. I called Parrot and told them about it and they didn't even care and said the drone would not be covered under warranty if it happened again. So buyer beware! This is what happened to me. Get the DJI Phantom FC40. It is cheaper and way more reliable.
@paulponce708910 жыл бұрын
It happened with my parrot minidrones spider,too. I decided to fly it outside on calm day with no breeze....1st attempt, it lifted off the ground for 2 seconds then came down....Then,I tried to fly it the second time,same thing happened...Then, 3rd attempt!!! It sling shot fast to 10 meters up and moved forward heading above three houses up,landed in their backyard. It happened so fast,not enough time to react..I panicked,worried!! I was hoping It didn't land on someone's head,that leads to sue for malicious damaged.. I picked it,put it back in the box and returned it,period!!That was just the little version of bebop. What if bebop like yours landed and shuttered a car windshield or on someone's property? I used to fly Rc Nitro Planes,previously.there are certain safety rules to follow as a member of the RC Club....Here what I used to pay then: actual annual members' fee + land leasing fee and insurance fee to compensate for physical and property damage. Now, these drones.....no safety rules.... No privacy rules....It's all up to individual drone pilots safety. I don't trust free flight 3 app.. There's congestion wifi signal in the air!!!
@dennismau910310 жыл бұрын
Exactly! It happens so fast and it takes off so fast there is hardly time to react. I am back to DJI Phantom. I don't have that problem.
@TommyGunnerYT10 жыл бұрын
They have fixed this problem with the new software... You should have waited before sending the bebop back. It has WAY better stabilisation camera than that fucking phantom. When you fly up in the air with a phantom the world curves into a circle and the footage gets shit.

These Parrot Bebop drones are a lot of fun, and small. I first got a Bebop 2 in January of 2016. I liked that one so much that I got a Bebop 1 drone like these to abuse. I've let friends fly it and it's been crashed a lot. I really don't fly the Bebop 2 much since the Bebop 1 is my go to drone. You can waste a lot of money on a huge expensive drone, or you can get a used Bebop for under $200. You can fly them with a cell phone and a Flight Plan, another $20 but gives you the ability to choreograph the smooth moves to video what you want to look at without any flying skill.

I built a quad. GoPro3 and a camera for FPV. Things we would want to know about this new Parrot. Time in flight and is it compatible with fatshark. The thing about my heavy 7 minutes in the air quad, I can change the cameras out and I can manage in pretty strong winds. All I'd like to see is longer time in the air. 20 to 30 minutes would be great.

I admit this version of the AR series is the sleekest coolest looking model yet! Look past its bulky controller/iPad thing and you think the thing is closer to hobby grade as it gets for them, and from what i can tell about the video coming from the camera is amazing technology. But till they give me a real control like a Spectrum or Futaba ill stay with my Phantom with the GoPro and gimbal FPV setup.

This product seems good on the surface and i wish the guys well. $399 and it does not come with a real controller, that is not a Toy - Just buy a DJI product and you get a real quad that is not a toy.

***** Well, it's targeted to iphone buyers, so a 400 dollar toy...
@trapbum378810 жыл бұрын
***** 399 is CHEAP.. and its not meant for a "real controller".. like i said, they are keeping it simple, where you can just pull out the phone (all in one controller and fpv display) already in your pocket instead of a bulky TX.. and i am confused, you say to buy DJI "that is not a toy" but you also say the ar is not a toy. DJI is MUCH more complicated than this and has a total different user base. you are thinking of this all wrong, it's not for filming it's a beginner FPV toy. DJI is wayyy out of this things league

why would you buy one? really? because of ease of use? (that might be the only reason why?) But other than that, it will be incredibly expensive. - with what one costs you can buy or even build something much more versatile and durable than that. oh and also, it won't be in the "toy" range.

seraph2099 LOL... Actually, I chose my words pretty carefully - I didn't say I would buy one... I said I wanted one.
