If you read through the stories of Isaac, one thing becomes extremely apparent: he is rarely the main character in his own stories! There is only one, seemingly inconsequential story where the focus is all on Isaac, and its about... digging some wells?! Why is THIS the story the Torah chooses to share about Isaac? Who cares about these wells? Is this Isaac's grand introduction? Let's explore Parshat Toldot (Genesis 29:14-28:9) together and try to understand how this introduction of Isaac is actually a perfect characterization of the Abrahamic legacy of kindness.

I love the way you guys "South Park" the pasha, and the rhotic r you guys are using to anglicize the Hebrew. The "kh" sounds, though, you've nailed those ones. Keep it up!

ב''ה, another comment is kvetching about the Hebrew - on a Torah channel? But for short statements, transliterating the Hebrew to reveal its structure before providing these sort of KJV translations we who spend too much time thinking in English end up relying on would do more for conveying the actual structure and learning. Y'all are blessed if you picked it up anyway from the standard rabbinical fast-talking; while that's sort of the challenge and the culture, it'd save a lot of back and forth work and hoping translation software is low on pranks, particularly when it's difficult to store or schlep a proper printed dictionary that G-d might have us purchase twice.

If this is true it seems to support what the satmar rebbe said about not establishing the state of Israel until its time.

rochel hirsch but after that there were establishments of Israel (King David , Shlomo) so it doesn’t make sense that this support what Satmar Rebbe said...

The lesson seems to be that it could be prevented somewhat, as long as we show that we're not looking to establish ourselves permanently

Speaking in Hebrew causes me to lose my train of thought while watching. It’s likely that nobody watching these videos speaks Hebrew so I’m not sure what the purpose of that is.

I myself enjoy listening to the reading. Helps me know how to pronounce things properly as I myself am learning to read it because it keeps the ordinal meaning and doesn't lose richness in translation. Motivates me to learn more hebrew.
