Guys, when you buy one of these testers, make sure it does vacuum AND pressure. A lot of them look the same but only test vacuum. I bought my tester on eBay for $40.00, 7 years ago and it still works great.

Which one did you buy?

i always do this before replacing carb if i have issues that could be carb related

I would add that another common leak location on 2 cycle equipment is the decompression valve, if it has one.

Yes. Didn’t think of that one! Thanks! Sorta goes along with spark plug

Good info. I think I have a blower with a crank case air leak It will run on carb spray or what ever but it will not pull fuel from the tank to the carb the primer bulb works fine.

Thanks for what you do. Can you share the part # for the Echo kit The # for the Stihl only comes up in the uk for me. I usually dot give away work, I think it is a little disrespectful to your self. that being said i would have said $10 and most of my customers would have handed me a 20. thanks again for all your time and effort.

Awesome leak test video. Best I've seen so far. What does a vacuum test kit cost?

Do you have to have the engine at top dead center to check the crank case? And vice versa to check compression of the cylinder head? Or does it matter?

I'm trying to pressure test a echo srm 2100. I have all the opening blocked off (that I know of) but I'm getting zero pressure when I test it, no matter how hard I pump. I tested another echo weed eater and it held fine. Any suggestions?

Mowermedic1 PLEASE HELP, I know their crappy and old even though it seems their hard to get parts for them but, I have a 2005 craftsman “model 358.79105” 25cc 2-stroke 47cm gas trimmer and a older 1998 craftsman “model 917.387410” 20” lawn mower with the original model 143.004002” engine. They both run with small issues but, the problem is here in New Orleans it seems that no one wants to work on them to any degree, so I’m stuck to do it myself and that’s fine. My problem is the parts and the small engine understanding part of it, I’m a heavy duty diesel tech and do all the work on my 85 Ford F-250 4x4 & 85 Mercury Grand Marquis. I’m by far no small engine tech except for proper maintenance like air filter, spark plug & fuel filter and small easy repairs like primer bulbs or pull starting assy’s. Both the trimmer and lawn mower have carb issues and I’m just stuck on how to fix them and getting the parts to do so.

You are wrong you need at least 15 bars of vaccum to test it
@THEMOWERMEDIC1 Жыл бұрын
15 bars is well over 200 psi. My air compressor doesn’t even go that high.
@L0WRYDER Жыл бұрын
@@THEMOWERMEDIC1 each bar is not 1psi in others words 1psi is= to 0.0689476 bar
@colindgrant Жыл бұрын
You probably mean 1 bar, which is right around 15 psi.
