Part 10: H22 Prelude Engine Swap Into a 90-93 Honda Accord CB7 CB9

Now that the car has officially started up - its time to dial some things in and we run across an issue after replacing a part 3 times. Tune in as we get the CB9 ready for the road!

Also just seen the little slit in the upper timing cover. I like that idea! Easily keep an eye on the condition of it without being too obtrusive.

Yeah - I get mixed reviews of that "window" but I like it as monitoring the belt is easier than pulling the valve cover back off.

A lil peace of advice, the 94 /95 accord power steering pump last longer and more stout than the prelude. Of course you will have to custome splice the high pressure side. Turns like a cadillac, and should be the same price as the prelude pump at oreillys. Good luck and keep it up

Wow - thanks for the advice. Is the CB7 head compatible for the 94-95 pump? If thats the case then I won't need to fabricate the Prelude head onto the CB7 hose. Will the hood close with that 94-95 pump also?

@@randomrebuilds I did it on my 93 accord and just used all the accessories and brackets( of the f22a6 ) and it all lined up if I remember right. Of course I transferred this set up over to 3 accords( cars got totalled) already so it's been awhile but its lasted over atleast 8 years now

Great progress 👍. With all the work your putting in You know you have to go Acura Cl Rotor-over-hub conversion for the front or just convert all 4 side to 5 bolt setup 😁

Glad to see the cb9 finally running and driving. When I did the swap in my wagon I used my stock accord power steering pump. I tried using the h22 P5M power steering pump and ended up using my stock accord Power Steering Pump since the P5M pump wouldn’t line up with the f series crank pulley. Did you try using your stock power steering pump before modifying your high pressure line?

Thanks man! Yeah I can't use the stock Accord pump as the hood won't close. So forced to use the Prelude pump or something thats not the 90-93 Accord unit.

with my state - you have to show proof of normal car registration of another vehicle in your household and it has to be 25+ years old and only used for leisure.

Hey I have a question. So I was wondering with the cb9 build that you did, you used your stock engine harness with some mods of course. Can I use a engine harness from a 94 accord on my 92 cb7 accord?

That I am not sure of as there may be some differences between the bodystyles. To be safe, I would stick with a 90-93 Harness.
