Loving this build Glynn, you are my go-to video to watch after coming home from work at 10 PM , a great way to unwind !! May I ask a question... Have you a background in mechanics/engineering ? Only ask as you seem fearless in tackling jobs I would hesitate taking on BUT I am very tempted to have a go at a similar project , ( most likely with a RE ) I know the current field you work in having seen your video's setting up presentations which reminded me of my past as a DJ/MC setting up sound and lighting rigs in venue's ranging from small clubs to football stadiums, so I am a quite practical person but have limited experience of working on vehicles beyond regular servicing ...Thanks Dave

Thanks David, I hope it helped you get to sleep 🤪 I did do Engineering at college with all the practical skills that go along with that but that was 30 years ago and I never did it as a job and went straight into electronics and then into event production although those skills are super useful. Mostly it was from having a long line of bangers and dubious British Leyland motor products when I couldn't afford a proper car and they needed fiddling with all the time. The RE stuff is great because it's so cheap relatively, but modern and reliable with loads of parts available. There aren't any other bikes where you can get a new mudguard for just £30 or any of the other parts you might need, so you can afford to make a mess of something and just learn from it, then get another one. They mix and match easily too don't they. You can even put them back to standard (if you don't grind too many bits off). Thanks for watching👍

Another excellent video, Glyn or should i say (Mr Enfield). I think you must be the only person who has fully stripped a reborn and rebuilt it. Knowing every little nut/bolt screw. Well done mate. What a rebuild.

Thanks Phil, they're such good little bikes and deceptively simple looking. A lot of hard work has gone into making them look so simple I think 👍 Thanks for watching

It’s amazing how good the quality of all the parts on the Classic are, right down to how well the threads are on all the bolts and screws. 😊 The bike is just looking better after each video instalment. Great work Glyn 😊

It is all quite nice, proper threads everywhere and not those crappy folded over threaded metal clips that get lost or rusty and fall out. A bike to last decades for sure if looked after

45 minutes of pure joy! The bike is coming together beautifully, this really is a labour of love. I don't know what's going on but every time I watch one of these videos I'm overcome by and urge to go into the garage and start polishing my bikes! 😆can't wait for the next instalment! Thanks Glyn 👍😃
@GlynOC
@GlynOC 6 ай бұрын
ahh thanks! I hope it finishes up ok. Using them is better than polishing and you do plenty of that so no worry there'. I'm not sure I'll be able to stay on top of them but the Muc-off protectant spray is very good for a quick blast over to stop corrosion, as long as you keep it off the brakes or you'll have a very exciting ride. Have a good weekend, Glyn

Thanks for this video Glyn. Relaxing and learnfull as always. A black seat with a white stripe would be amazing (if it fits in the budget). I know you will make the 350 a unique Glyn enfield, ha, ha.

I know I'm being childish but I do love a bit of speeded up video, it always makes me chuckle. I especially enjoy speeded up hammering, so if you could include some in a future episode I would much appreciate it 🔨 Of course the bike is looking fantastic👍

Have you tried WD40 to remove sticky label residue? I always find it is the best thing and most of us have it to hand. Whenever I have anything powder coated, I put sacrificial screws in all tapped holes, which stops the problem of the paint clogging the threads. Looking better with each video 👍
@GlynOC
@GlynOC 6 ай бұрын
Thanks Dave, I'd forgotten about WD40, I'll have to get some. That powder coat sure is tough. I think the chap did the obvious threads but those tiny ones must have slipped through. I'm so glad I didn't paint that stuff👍
@davericketts9101
@davericketts9101 6 ай бұрын
@@GlynOC Yes, powder coat is really tough. I always do all the threads before I take it to the powder coaters. Top tip...if you are putting bolts into tapped holes that go right through, as opposed to blind holes, only put them in to the depth of thread. I made the mistake once of screwing the bolts well through the body panel and had the devil`s own job getting the bolts back out.

My classic has some condensation on the LED display. A common fault. Apparently, there is something you can remove on the bottom that let's it out. Have a look if you get the chance.

Even after completely tightening the top hex nut of my bike, the handle feels crooked. When the bike runs, all the components are fine, got it checked but the handle feels crooked. This problem had come earlier also, when the hex nut was completely tightened, then it was fine. Now those nuts are not getting tightened properly, please help.

Whatever possessed R Enfield to name a signature motorcycle component "casquette" ? 😆

I think it's French for 'cap' and they called it that in early marketing, to make it sound posh maybe 🤪

Hi Lemay, how are you? I do live event production - sound, lighting, staging, video & design etc and it's pretty much what I've always done. Enjoyable but stressful and never enough time to do everything which is why I enjoy making videos and not rushing too much 👍
