Now in my 60s and having had a few vans the last 20 years I have slowed right down and a bimbling plodder is just what I need and what I'm aiming for to buy in the next couple of months.... and you never know I might come back down to mid Glamorgan from North East Wales to ride up from Nant y Moel....fantastic

Like you I thought the engine sounded a bit tappety be interesting to see howe it sounds once you re check the tappets. I would be tempted to put the standard cam back in if that does not calm the top end down. Another shout out for the touring seat, made a huge difference over the standard seat on mine so for your lower seat should be even better. I am pleased you are now finding the magic of the Classic they just get under your skin, best bike I have owned in 54 years of riding. Looking forward to your next video 😊

Morning I love the look of that a motorcycle that’s gone through time and done loads of adventures it sort of reminds me of looking at an old Indian or Harley with that colour and white wall tyres great eye catcher and as you say it’s a fantastic bike for bimbling around the country lanes especially in wales beautiful countryside your a very lucky man to live somewhere in or near wales although winter can be a pain at times hard living I’d imagine and to cap it off the sound of the engine real old time sound ride safe take care
@GlynOC4 ай бұрын
Yes that's exactly it! A bit haggard and worn 🤪 I'm so happy I've finally got a bike with white walls, I've wanted one for years! The winters have just been miserable the last few years, it's just been rain rain rain without any of the beauty of crisp frost or snow to make it look pretty. I have a plan for a new project though🤪

Totally get the "hoponable" thing. I sold my harley softail 2 years ago as I lost the feeling for riding. Turns out it was just I had the wrong bike for the time in my life. The meteor mentally is easier to go out on. Don't know if that makes sense or not. Great video once again Glyn.

Hi Glyn, Rusty looks great and that was a wonderful spirited ride in beautiful countryside. The Classic 350 really is an addictive bike. It would be interesting to know how the larger circumference tyres affect the gearing and speedo reading compared with the standard bike. I can manage just over an hour on the standard seat, but that is about the same for every bike I've owned. Very much looking forward to your next project, whatever that may be.
@GlynOC4 ай бұрын
Thanks very much Andy. I should have set up my phone and GPS, thanks for the reminder, I'll do that next time and see how accurate it is. The wheels are 8% greater in circumference as I worked it out so does that mean 8% faster for the same revs/gear etc? A new project already fermenting for the winter and will be suitably 'unusual'🤪
@andyh59714 ай бұрын
@@GlynOC yes, I think that your speedo will be under reading by 8%, but as most speedos over read you might find yours will be fairly close to the GPS speed. Anyway, careful with those speed limits just in case!😉

Hi Glyn, I think the std seat is OK, but it's the rear suspension that's a bit too hard. Rumble strips are a pain to me. I agree with the levers Hitchcocks seem to have all the answers. I've always planned for the cam, but now I've done some miles I'm quite happy You hit the nail on the head, when you said, you can keep up, but not hold anyone up. It's a very good B road bike, and that's where its happy. I want a ride on the Guerilla!!! Regards Mike N
@GlynOC4 ай бұрын
Thanks very much Mike, I can feel the rear is a bit firm and a little softer would be nice, maybe the thicker seat will help a bit, and avoiding a few more potholes 👍 The roads sure seem 'emptier' on the Classic!

I have the same issues with the low seat and the bended knees on the pegs. Allso having short legs. That said, rusty is getting more beautifull with every ride, whow!!! And what a beautifull landscape. Are you going to protect the rusty parts Glyn? Like a oil based protection so it wont shine and when it rains the rust is dripping all over the place, ha ha. Very nice video again. Thanks Glyn. Warm greetings from Holland.
@GlynOC4 ай бұрын
Welkom terug! ahh at least it's not just me then 👍 The rust is supposed to be a final finish product and shouldn't wash off, although some people do wax or oil it, which makes it go flat and dark, but I'm not going to do that yet. It may just be that it only ever gets rinsed with water and left to its own fate, which would seem apt! It's not running off anyway!

Another great backdrop to to the bike chat, about Rusty😊. The cam makes it more loud, or grunt…..😂 Be interesting to hear a db meter measuring the sound between a cam and non model. Pity your seat not to your comfort liking. Mine, took a while to run in, or bum in. My seat inner has medical gel/ memory foam. It now moves with me, as I ride. Not much, but it seems to be beneficial at corners😊. She does sound fantastic Glyn😊 Bikes kinda locked in garage, till the workmen do the back garden. Hopefully, get out, mid next week, as got Brake pads to get fitted. Great to see you about n aboot😊

I've just had another grille set delivered from India and am going to rustify that. The other parts are aluminium so wouldn't rust, and I was also hedging my bets as it's a one way trip and if it didn't work out I couldn't just change out the cycle parts and have a shiny bike again at some time in the future if I wanted too 👍
@silverback39263 ай бұрын
Again you seem to trying to sit further back. you can see the seat pan design in your other video. The sprung solo is sculpted with a dip towards the front of the seat and a rise to the rear. Sitting rearward towards that rise puts undue pressure on your low back and pushes you forward on the bars. Just something to bv think about.

Il coûte environ 40 euros sur Amazon, donc plus cher que les produits bon marché. bravo, Glyn

Crash bars serve a very worthy purpose to shave your motorcycle from being damaged in a get off. They are useful piece of equipment that should not be looked at in an aesthetic light. Warren inn means more comfortable. Like a nice old leather jacket or a pair of boots. Shiny and new memes uncomfortable until it's broken in. Nice ride thanks for taking me along.

Top Speed and MPG?
@GlynOC27 күн бұрын
I haven't tried the top speed really, the roads around here aren't really long enough! It gets to 65 happily but seems like a long drag after that, it's happier at 55-60mph. I think the bigger tyres have messed up the gearing to can't quite pull top gear like it wants too. I haven't measured mpg either but I don't think all the hills help
