Thanks for making the video - I have the same issue but from front right side wheel, I am in the UK and RHD car so expect why the noise is on the other side. Car booked in for repair at BMW dealer on Friday :o)

May i know how do we tell if our steering rack cannot be repaired by this kit? Most of workshops here will immediately want me to replace to a recon steering wheel kit or repair it by charging about $700 for repair.

Did your car make noise too when Turing the steering wheel or only when it’s of and you just shook it because mine does the same exact thing as you and when I’m trying to turn the steering wheel it clicks let me know if you have found the issue I have a f30 drive 335i

Can this cause shaking on higher speeds, I have no kliking sound, or any sound from whels...but I have shaking on 130kmh. I have done wheel balancing 2x lol

Thanks! Yes, you could easily identify the front left as the source. It didn't affect the steering for me at all, just had the dull suspension knocking on uneven roads - as you described.

It will be on the driver side front. Mine is RHD and on the right. You’ll also get knock with the engine off and when you turn wheel left to right etc.

Is it easier now to turn the wheel while driving or is it stiff? I had a problem with my F31, suddenly it feels like the power steering lost 1/4 of it's power. Before I could turn the wheel using one finger, now it's more stiff.

No, it had nothing to do with the steering strength.

I made this repair kit installation today and not worked for me, next I'm going to replace steering axle. So we will see if it works.

Yeah I'm sure you have a mirrored/flipped version of the steering rack in the UK and that would make the knock come from the right. :)

You got scrued. you dont need to pay 30 euro for 0.20 euro to repair that. its true that you need to go to a dealer or eps specialist to tune it back after you remove the cap but you paid to much for the oem replacement part. I know cuz this is what i do every day at my job. EPS.
