All manuals at my school have to do this with a sleeper so we do not get as much room for errors
@truckerstevecdlinstructorАй бұрын
@@BayTactical if you have a sleeper with a 53 foot trailer, you are correct. If the trailer is 40 feet, more space.

@@truckerstevecdlinstructor Thank you at our school we don't get much time mostly standing around getting about 1-2 tries a day 2 if you are lucky in an 8-hour day then like 15 minutes of driving. Maybe that is how all schools are.

@@BayTactical NO they are not! Good CDL Schools will provide quality training. Road time per each trip on a public road, should be no less than 45 minutes. Range time on the range at least two 30 minutes of practice. The FMCSA says no student should be tested unless they are Proficient in all skills. Document each and every day of your training. How much time you practice a skill.

Is this the same one of the two options you did with the toy tractor trailer when fixing a bad set up for the reverse blindside offset? Give it right, and watch the right cone, instead of giving it right and pulling forward?
@truckerstevecdlinstructor3 ай бұрын
@@Nard91-w8j you are backing in unless you are to close to top cone on the right side. If you have a 53 foot trailer and a sleeper tractor, may have to do a pull up.

@@truckerstevecdlinstructor Just a a visual reminder, how much if the top right cone would a person see if they are too close to it?
@truckerstevecdlinstructor3 ай бұрын
@@Nard91-w8j may not see it at all or your right side is very close to it. If the left rear trailer tires is one to two yards off the rear cone you should be okay.
@Nard91-w8j3 ай бұрын
@@truckerstevecdlinstructor That’s a 53ft trailer you have in this video, Steve. You got in without hitting the cone. But I guess not having a sleeper cab makes the difference?
@truckerstevecdlinstructor3 ай бұрын
@@Nard91-w8j as I said in the video, if I had a sleeper tractor, yes I may have wanted to do a pull up. But checking the cone on the right side, I was not near the cone and would have been okay. Note: I turned the steering wheel to the right and moved the trailer to the left. Very small adjustments. The error students may make to big of an adjustment.

The school I go to does none of that..

@@naomibotyah5609 we want our students to be close to the rear cone. Especially if you are testing in a 53 foot trailer and a sleeper tractor. This video is what you can do if you are not close to the rear cone. Must be aware of the top cone. What does your CDL school teach.
