THE CHALLENGE
- I must recruit all 40 characters in the normal playable cast of Conquest. (Capturable enemies and DLC/Amiibo units are not required.)
- Every character must be trained: at the end of the campaign, the sum of their level before promotion and their displayed level in their final class must be at least 25. For the purposes of this rule, Felicia, Jakob, Gunter, Camilla, and Leo are considered to have been level 0, 0, 5, 10, and 16 before promotion, respectively.
- No DLC or multiplayer battles are allowed.
BONUS OBJECTIVES
- Have every character get married. (Gunter, Shura, Flora, and Izana need only unlock an A-rank support with Corrin.)
- For each character, acquire an additional class with an A+ support, if possible. (Characters who can't get new classes this way, like Jakob, should unlock A-rank support with Corrin instead.)
- Kidnap all of the unique capturable bosses.
OTHER RULES
- DLC, path bonuses, visitation bonuses, and battle bonuses are banned.
- No random events in My Castle (Lottery Shop, conversations around the castle, etc.) are allowed. Birthdays are included in this ban. I may use the Private Quarters once, immediately after chapter 6, when it is not random.
- Einherjar, Logbook, DLC, Amiibo, and Bond units are banned.
- Facilities like Lilith's Temple and the Prison that refresh over time may only be used once between maps. The exception is that I can use them, upgrade them, and then immediately use them again.
- I am allowed unlimited food and gems, but not Dragon Vein Points.
- I can acquire a Chef's Hat. I cannot visit other castles for any other purpose.
- I may manipulate results from the Mess Hall according to the abilities of my best chef. (So I can't get Exquisite meals until I acquire Jakob, Peri, or Percy.)

Reuploaded so that I could finally fix the captions. KZbin was being really, really difficult about them, and I was away on vacation so I wasn't able to go redo all the timings manually. I hope I don't have to do that again, because it's a huge pain! While I was at it, I remixed the audio tracks to sneak in a couple of commentary clips that I accidentally missed in the original upload, too. So… watch it again!

Benny does not care for Conquest's meta in any way shape or form and I adore him for it. -4 movement -6 base speed -only friendship reclass option is fighter -heart seal class is also fighter -joins comparatively late for a 1st gen unit TAKES ON TWO ONMYOJI UNPROMOTED IN ATTACK STANCE AND WINS. He's absolutely going to take part in kitsune lair. I can't wait to see him confront a bunch of magic fox creatures and just have him look like 🗿🪛

Benny's probably my favorite character in the game. I love that he's in a game where the worst units are at least ok. Sure he's kinda a beginner's trap like a lot of knights in the series, but I love to use him or Ignatius whenever I run through Conquest.

i wish he had Wyvern as a heart seal because then he could go Nyx Marriage to get Heartseeker then go into Wyvern Lord to become a flying -avoid bot with effective damage from Beast Killer and Hammer to circumvent his meh strength. As he is he completely stands against what makes conquests class system so interesting, which is both funny but also sad for his viability with more complex builds

He's also an ideal pair-up for the handful of speedy but frail lasses you get in Fates, like Mozu or Selena. I've even had an Elise x Benny pairing work out well! Benny's pretty awful in most traditional metrics for evaluating units, but his personal skill and the unique lances in the game give him some added niches. Plus, a number of the child paralogues challenge you to reach destinations on the map quickly and hold them down (it's a recurring motif in a lot of the Conquest paralogues), and Wary Fighter Benny is able to hold down a location for at least one turn, giving you some more wiggle room in getting your team positioned.

I love how the game offers so many cool and strong weapons, but the best ones are the accurate bronze tier, that offers crit protection, and the F tier are the legendary friggin weapons.

I have a sneaking suspicion that the bizarre behaviour of the boss' squad is the result of bespoke programming for its members which influences their decision-making based on whether the turn is odd or even, in order to accentuate the effects of their skills.

My predictions after Ch19 is that Ch20 is next, then Shigure’s Paralogue and then his wife, who I predict will be Sophie. Shigure is the only child not currently recruited who needs an A support with Corrin due to being the only male Sky Knight in conquest, and so recruiting him towards the beginning of the child Paralogues makes sense. Unless im mistaken, it takes a minimum of 7 maps for any child to get married due to the lack of fast supports, so Ch20 is the final map that can be completed without needing all children, with Ch21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26 and Invasion 3 exactly making enough for any two children - the final two to be recruited - to get married. Doing Ch20 before the Paralogue chain is needed to complete the Jakob Azura support chain as they reached an A support in this episode, and also not only allows any children to instantly complete their level requirements by bypassing 20/5 and provides immediate skills that will make children easier to train, it also uncaps the levels on all unpromoted first gen units who must train like Nyx, Niles, Arthur etc, and the child Paralogues (particularly Shigure, Kana, Dwyer and Midori) are fountains of exp that I expect will single handedly retire many early joiners. Positioning Shigure’s first in this chain in particular would also be beneficial because there still exists units who want to grab certain skills for their children, such as Kaze (who you say will go into a sword class, likely Paladin/GK for Elbow Room) and Beruka (wants Trample) to pass to Midori, who I also predict will be recruited fairly early in the chain for Profiteer. Shigure is also one of the children who joins at the end of their Paralogue, so cannot build support in his Paralogue itself, so doing it before his wife maximises his support gains. Doing Sophie’s Paralogue after Shigure’s is admittedly less concrete of speculation, but if the Ch19 video is similar enough to the planning episode a while back, Wyvern Silas will be getting a skill to pass down and nearing his level requirements, and so it makes sense to me that he will retire in Sophie’s Paralogue. Percy and Soleil are very likely to be a marriage, and Corrin and Ophelia are basically confirmed with Corrin being poised to give her Onmyoji, so Shigure would need a wife recruited immediately after him to most efficiently built his support. Of the female children, I don’t believe Kana and Midori can exist in 3 maps time, so Sophie is the only other high-exp cross route Paralogue for a female unit to help retire more of the early units so focus can be placed on the children. This isn’t conclusive though of course, but I will be very happy if I’m right.

1:31:30 Is Kitsune Lair the most infamous map in CQ? I always felt Ninja Cave and Fuga's Wild Ride were more hated among the playerbase.

I personally find Kitsune Lair the most annoying because i don’t use Wyvern Xander that much, and the fact that it’s a rout map where enemies are dodgy and can decide to become invincible makes it super annoying. Ninja Cave comparatively is actually quite a fun chapter to start imo, because i think Fates is at its best as a puzzle game and Ch17 really promotes the ideas of stacking units to one round the ninjas, which is really satisfying to pull off. It’s far more of a ‘solved Chapter’ as using Xander to block a doorway with a bow unit or hand axe user behind and healing support can trivialise most of it if you are ok with waiting and playing kinda slow. Fuga’s Wild Ride is actually kinda enjoyable too? The wind can lead to some really fun strats and sending units very far distances, and i find that the promise of unlimited seals keeps me motivated to get through the chapter so i can fulfill all my skill dipping dreams of Elbow Room Leo and Heartseeker Elise.

Once you know how Ninja Cave and Fuga's Wild Ride work, they aren't too bad. They just makes you use your brains a little a harder than previous maps did. Kitsune Lair is rife with high avoid enemies and a map gimmick that's basically trying to shove same turn reinforcements into a game that rightfully decided to remove them. No amount of brainwork is changing that (although I'd love for Zoran to prove me wrong). Flier spam just feels like the objectively best option which is a bit disappointing with a game that usually rewards variety in classes and strategy.

Hey Zoran sorry to ask this on a random video, but how do you get the HD icons? I was able to get your own HD texture pack working, and got Moonling's Icon Project installed, but the resolution of the icons in my game are WAY lower res than yours. Tag Team bonuses require you to be the one who Dual Strikes with, iirc. So for Effie, Arthur has to be the pair up for the accuracy
