I love how you, as a teacher, include the "educational" aspect in your narrative so we can "learn" how the production sequence actually works as well as your personal memories of doing those scenes. We're all interested in the characters. Adding the "procedural" information makes it even more interesting !! 👍👍 Really enjoy these videos you and Judy are doing !!! ;o)

THE WALTONS ABOUT TO HAVE A MORTGAGE BURNING PARTY. WHEN IKE SHOWS UP IN DISTRESS. JOHN WALTON DECIDES TO REMORTGAGE THE FAMILY HOUSE TO HELP IKE OUT. A VERY EMOTIONAL MOVE OF LOVE OF A GREAT FRIEND. NOW THAT WAS VERY WELL WRITTEN SHOW. WHAT GREAT MEMORY'S YOU ALL MUST HAVE. NOW WE CAN LISTEN TO YOUR GREAT MEMORY'S & A LOT MORE YOUR FEELINGS OF EACH SHOW & ALL THE ACTORS FEELINGS. I was raised as a city boy in MI. and very sheltered, so in watching the Waltons I learned that for other groups of ppl, going to a store like that was their fun trip of the week or say, especially when it's run by a friend or family member. Your recalls are very informative and entertaining, the scene between Judy and Richard of the " I told you So " was especially funny to see.

@@kami-cotler Kami, I'd like to see you make a video that goes into some detail about the personal impact that *_The Waltons_* had on your life, your inner growth as a person and who you would become. I think *_The Waltons_* had an impact on all those that spent the time to watch it regularly, so it's only logical to think it had an impact on you all as children too, and the people you would grow up to be. Questions like how it helped to shape your personal values would be interesting to explore. For us it was a heart-story of members of a family, so these questions are more engaging. For us it was also personal because it touched us where families intersected the bond of love. What personal impact did it have on you in your development? Did it teach you anything besides how to act? Did it shape your values at all? Did it teach you about people, or fan your growth in certain ways? Did it fill in gaps in your childhood, like provide the notion of what it means to have grandparents if you had none, in your life? Or what it meant to spend time in nature when maybe you were a city kid? Certainly it provided some time away from asphalt and the concrete jungle, so to speak, even when also spending time in studios. It showed you old values, as it did us. How has that impacted your trajectory into the adulthood you've chosen and the career path you've enjoyed? These are queries that I think would interest many, because it has impacted us as well. Thank you. :)

Thank you so much! It's great to hear your perspectives and memories. I grew up in Virginia and close in age to you and David, so the show has been influential in my life. It is interesting that they tried to dye the other children's hair red too. I noticed in the introduction to the episode that Earl mentioned that all of the siblings had red hair, and in The Homecoming, the actor who played John, Sr. had red hair. I think the father and all the children in the novel Spencer's Mountain did too. I haven't read the novella The Homecoming, but we try to watch it every Christmas. Thanks again; looking forward to the next installment.

Thank you Kami! As a child growing up watching the Waltons each week, I always loved Ike and how nice he always was to the children, how happy and jovial he always was and how fun it would be to visit his store. I also remember not liking when he and Corabeth got married and not understanding at the time why over time his personality seemed to change. As a child I guess I just didn’t make the connection that it was her who changed him. As an adult rewatching the series sometimes it is uncomfortable for me to watch those scenes with he and Corabeth due mainly to some past similar issues I had as a child with my mother and now my husband. Joe Conley did such a great acting job with his facial expressions showing his feelings of dismay, confusion, embarrassment, anger etc everytime Corabeth would cut him down or was mean to him. I always felt sad and hurt for him after he married her. I wish her character could have been nicer.
