This is a real nice series. Its like a intermediate series which teaches you about basic physics, procedural textures, modifiers.even though i know how to use blender i decided to follow this series and this a really great series 👍

I can't believe I completed part 7. This was so informative and until now dealt with procedural material. Thanks. ☃

Ryan, this is the best taught blender tutorial series I have seen on U tube. I started doing 3D "modeling" about 1985 in AutoCAD. (At the time AutoCAD did VERY primitive modeling.... basically worthless. ) Went on professionally to work in Inventor and SolidWorks. Solid Modeling is totally different than Mesh. I found Blender Mesh modeling really frustrating because there were things I could model in two minutes in SolidWorks That seemed to take forever in Blender... like the hat on the snowman. I would have sketched the half profile then rotated it around an axis. If I needed half the hat I could rotate it 180 degrees rather than 360... But now that I have the process figured out for mesh modeling, I am able to model the hat dented on one side and able to make the brim bent. But still technical Solid Modeling is a totally different animal than Organic mesh. .... Also, as a technical designer my mind works in know dimensions. I think the new PDT functions will help me with that problem. ... Keep up the good work.

Hi, my coal material keeps getting a light purple color, as if there's a missing texture. Is it a bug or what might it be? Thank you.

Ryan, you might want to point out that clicking and dragging the material button will NOT work if you have ticked Open on Mouse Over in your User Preferences.
