The teen does have concerns that need to be addressed. He was begging to call the relative…he recognized he was losing his temper. Calling the relative to get him out of overwhelming situation was a coping skill. He was trying to use his coping skill… However, mom blaming everything on teen is delusional!!! You are an adult take some responsibility. This isn’t an a temporary issue caused by mom’s recent illness. Dad needs to take reasonability too, he was also living in home and was aware of situation. Dad having a surveillance camera inside house to watch what was happen. Tells me he knew the concerns but choice to leave kids in that situation.

Dad did take responsibility. He's under a service plan as well. But he's got the kids and is hopefully doing well with mom out for now while the rest of the family can get some healing done. I agree about the oldest boy..he escalated because the adult who should have been helping him regulate just triggered him more. Very sad

What scares me about her is exactly what happened in the case of Shanda Vander Ark, she tried to blame her older son for the abuse SHE ordered the other son to do to her youngest, and the poor little boy died of malnutrition. All during her trial she did everything she could to shift blame to her son. He basically responded to that with, 'i just wanted her to love me. ' ... Now he has to live with the guilt AND has to deal with the fact that his mother did this to him and then tried to let him take the blame. Ugh.

The PICC Line: Periphereally Inserted Central Catheter. My husband had a PICC Line due to an infection that he got while he was in hospital receiving chemo treatments. The very first thing the nurse who trained us on how to care for it was : It must be sanitary, no germs, don't have kids touching the area, don't have pets around . I would never have considered having him care for our 3 kids alone while he had the PICC Line. No excuse for this. She uses her older kids as caregivers for those kids. I do not believe this only happens because she has a recent medical condition. It seems that this family had CPS involvement for quite a while!

Everything you said is what I was thinking. Thank goodness her uterus is out. If only that had happened years ago. I do not understand why it is always the MOST incompetent, negligent parents who go on having child after child after child. And I do mean parentS plural. The sperm donors are equally culpable. The attitude of the mother in court is hard to believe. That swiveling, the dark glasses, that smirk. Well, I suppose it is all to the good. She isn't making any pretense about who she is. I still cannot believe that it took over a week, and required outside intervention for the kicked infant to be seen by a doctor. The "mother" STILL doesn't care. Then there's her lawyer. They do say that people end up with attorneys who reflect their own character. This man certainly is NOT the exception proving the rule. He's just proving the rule

Mom’s hate for the 14 year old comes screaming through. The teen knows his parent blames him for everything and no matter what he does he can’t do anything right. Even in video the teen made took multiple steps in attempt to regulate his behavior. His attempts to regulate were blocked by mom. With toddlers (or sleep walkers) in the house a simple slide lock above toddler reach on outside doors might makes scenes. But double key lock and locked windows is a recipe for disasters. If messy, chaotic house was only short term issue due to sudden illness…I’d feel better about the family coping long term. Family has required CPS involvement for at least 11 years. This wasn’t only a sudden illness when older children needed to step up and take on more responsibility for a week or two. Teen daughter wasn’t in school…no way she could be getting home schooled even if self directed.

You won't immediately notice the effects of it, but in generations to come if there's a generation that doesn't have kids that means there will be more elderly people with nobody to take care of them, people will have to work longer before retirement because there's nobody to take their place, etc. It has huge effects on the economy. The issue right now is that the wrong people are continuing to have kids. There's a generation where it's celebrated to be childless and successful which there's nothing wrong with, but we need more of those successful people having children that will grow into successful adults. You're effing kidding me?! How the hell is that attorney gonna defend his client like she just doesn't know how that's happened? NO. Those behaviors are LEARNED and dollars to donuts, she is the one who taught them. I feel like the isolation of the husband's family etx is very pointed to suggest there is significant domestic violence against him. I would not be surprised at all to find out that's the case. She should NOT be in charge of ANY child.

I has my Son as a teenager, not long after my health issues kicked off. I always wanted more children, it would of been nice to have a daughter too. However my son has his own issues and with everything else i knew my plate was full. It wouldn't of been fair to my son or the new child if i had more.... so i didn't. Cases like this make me so angry, i think it is selfish. Courts should impose birth control orders or even a hysterectomy/ the snip snip. Sorry but I do think that certain people shouldn't be allowed to breed !😠

I feel like a lot of the problem here is the fact there are 6 OTHER kids. The son is old enough for them to have seen his behavioural issues present themselves before many of the other kids came along. They knew it would be a challenge and decided to continue having kids anyway?

And one by one they will become willful and mom will power struggle with them until they, too, are the "problem" and she wants rid of them. Except the older daughter. She's so parentified that she will sacrifice her own growth and independence to protect her siblings until they're all old enough to leave. Then she might find a life and her own way in the future. It's tragic

In 2004 at 29 y/o I had a total hysterectomy which resulted in a hematoma that became septic. It SUCKED, but it was not as debilitating as she’s making it out to be. If it was, she’d be hospitalized. IMO

Mr. Brooks quotes 'The Old Lady In The Shoe', but using the excuse "She had so many children she didn't know what to do," does nothing for his case. One is a nursery rhyme, the other a real woman that should have quit being a human Pez dispenser after the first couple of children were born! We have a few large families in our community, and inevitably, the eldest are required to tend to the youngest. The parents haven't the time nor energy to care for all of them, and the eldest grow up far too soon.

When I was a kid, my parents had friends with 13 or 14 kids, can't remember because I was quite young and I never saw them again after we moved away. The older children took care of the little ones, they were a team and all seemed very organised and happy. My mother talked often about how great they were as a family. There were only 2 kids and mum and dad in our family and we weren't always organised 😄

It really makes me angry how mom pushed and pushed and pushed this teenage boy even as he was trying to deescalate and get help with regulation. It was NOT his responsibility to clean up messes he did not make in the first place and he tried to reach out to his support system when the confrontation made him feel out of control.

Yes, none of that happened overnight. The father should receive some type of blame. Leaving his wife sick with seven children. The children should have been removed from the home, not him. Still having the children with all of those issues.

This is an egg donor not a Mom. Anyone who talks about their own child like trash and openly say she now wants him gone doesn't deserve to have him. You fight until you figure it out. And if the child is too violent to be around the other children have Dad take him elsewhere until the issue is solved. Talk to social workers to find solutions. But don't give your child away. This is insanity.

Although not discussed enough, this behavior plays out in homes across the country every day as females have started ficusing in "Me" and have stopped parenting and handed that role to social media. No one on either side of the political aisle wants to have this tough needed discussion because both sides are guilty. #Makeparentinggreatagain

So this woman who wears sunglasses in the court room mind you. Blames all this on her son?!? C’mon. Children especially are a product of their environment and this was no place for a goldfish to be living. She could try loving and encouraging her son but that’s just my two cents.
