@@beepbop6542 though you can gather that from what we have learnt already. The fact a Fallen Empire takes great interest in the situation of both Earth and it's Lost Colony is very interesting. This can basically have two options; either Earth (I believe is called the Greater Terran Protectorates, but I'm not sure if that was a spoiler or from one of the episodes) is a Galatic Superpower that holds hegemony over a large swarth of the Galaxy, or is a Dominion of a Fallen Empire, likely the rival of 'our' Fallen Empire, and a Dominion that still holds vast power nonetheless. These are my two hypotheses of the situation on Earth, but I don't actually fully trust what Lashy said, so in my mind, both are still valid hypothesis.

We do know, in cannon, that there is a United Terran Protectorates, but we don't know if they're the same one we heard about in the pre-season vote.

I do enjoy the difference in how the story is shaping up between the GTU and Antares Confederacy thanks to their origins. With the GTU it was a lot more militaristic from the get go thanks to the prior invasion so were more "Strike fast and hard before they even have a chance" whereas here the Antares are more diplomatic so while they are slowly becoming more militaristic due to pragmatism, they seem to gain more allies than outright enemies.

A few idea for the about Stellaris Invicta Season 2 Templin Institute because i don't know how to classified this (sorry for the bad english): 1. an overview of all empire or important empire in the series, maybe even some of their cities, systems, fleets, person of interest,... 2. an honorable mention of all empire that were good but didn't make the cut or some of the team personal favourite ( not necessarly have to be in the actual series ) 3. an extra round of writing submission to the people whose empire were picked (either in the actual series or the picked 100), they can write idea about their empire cities, systems, fleets, person of interest,... or even add additional lore to the Antares confederacy or the chosen empire in general because as of now, the whole "audience contribution" thing comes off as a publicity ploy than something actually get include in the official series.

Seems the empire of which Zarqlan was a part of was much akin to the Roman Empire here on Earth: A vast nation encompassing a large portion of the overall known territory at the time which, after it's fall, still left a huge cultural impression on it's constituent peoples, language similarities being chief among them. I find that there might be a lot more lore to be explored with respect ot religion in the Anteres Confederacy. Considering it is a confederacy and yet its dominant religions are Islam and Buddism, that does not leave a huge amount of historical precendent in the real world beyond some South East Asian countries and some regions of India. The impression I get is that the Confederacy is mostly secular, which, again, is historically rare in the real world for a mostly Islamic nation. Considering that in both regions, the history of relations between the two religious groups has been strained, to put it mildly, it would be interesting to explore the extent to which religion influences politics in the confederacy and subsequently now these two major releigious groups have come to (at least mostly) coexist. I imagine issues like womens rights (including participation in the military and in government), freedom of expression and various economic aspects like the sale of alcohol or the functioning of the financial market would all be very different if religion played a more prominent role in the Confederacy so I think it would be cool to explore how religion ther become more liberal and less strict, something which has few real-world precedents with respect to Islam. Perhaps Turkey post-WW1 after the fall of the Ottoman Empire might serve as an interesting case-study, as the country basically turned from a multicultural, but ultimately Islamist, nation into a secular democracy that happened to be majority Islam almost overnight once Attaturk started enacting reforms as the country's first President. I would be happy to discuss this with others who might have more ideas or even knowledge of the relationship between relgion and politics in what seems to be a mostly secular representative democracy!

I still wish that Earth had been conquered by one of the more outwardly evil of the Fallen Empires. As it is it seems a bit backwards to constantly be calling the materialists the great evil ones in the galaxy. Other than that, good episode.
