It's one thing for his own employee to be there but when he brings others into the shop that to me would be a big no-no. If any one of them got hurt the shop would be sued big time.

@@1575murray if the shop owner was unaware of the people being allowed in they are technically trespassing (even if they work there during normal hours) and the shop is not liable for anything that happens to them. (I have been through such a thing in our restoration shop once.... the guy lost a finger when the press exploded while pressing a lexus hub bearing together ... the insurance company said it was known as " unauthorized use" so he paid his own Bill's and the insurance company made him pay for the broken press even though the guy worked with us *before it happened*

Yeah he's a good guy and he's very particular about "use the right spec parts the first time" that's rare in the diesel tech field. and he teaches everyone to do the job he's been doing himself exclusively for years which he knows costs him some business plus all the time recording and editing.... just to see more of these trucks safely back on the road. People who have passion for their work make others want to do it too.

I know there is nothing good to say about the 6.4 engine. My sincere question is..... Is it feasable to replace the 6.4 with a 6.0? There are nice trucks poping up here and there for sale with dead 6.4s in them. I can't see putting Cummins motors in when a 6.0 could live there instead. Will it work out cost wise etc? I live in the northeast and most 6.0 trucks are rotted beyond economical repair. This might also be a good market for you.

I am very happy with the dealer proof that PSH did on my truck back in June. I bought a 06 350 with a blown motor and had it shipped to GA from AZ. I do wish they would have recommended a bottom end re-seal that Pascal did on his truck. I would have gladly paid the extra cost while it was getting dealer proofed.

@6point0powerstroker794 жыл бұрын
Don't put a Cummins in a Ford body it just pisses off both dodge and ford lovers. . The 6.4 WILL DIE and when it does find a '07 with 6.0 or 7.3 drivetrain and put the new body right over the top of the '07 frame.... it takes a good amount of electrical knowledge and experience with these trucks but it can be done for less than another good shape 6.4 engine would cost. You just have to take the ENTIRE UNBROKEN ENGINE HARNESS and have someone skilled do the steering column and a/c tie-in to the new bodywork but in the end you'll have a near problem-free drivetrain and have a newer truck's suspension, dash amenities and body to let the drivetrain live another 400k miles or so. Front half of Frame rails and still wired and running '07 drivetrain are technically only parts necessary from the swap into an '08-10 truck. [If you're 'round Louisiana "I'd do it for around $3500 labor with a 3 year guarantee that nothing I have done will cause a failure or I'll fix it on my dime"]

@6point0powerstroker794 жыл бұрын
There are people who DO ;) I have done a number of late 90's 7.3 full drivetrain swaps into the newer body style '08 6.4 trucks..... but it is kind of a long job < around 2 weeks if body donor is in decent shape a month is likely if the 7.3 trans hasn't been upgraded to be the International specs yet> and it's only for those who have a genuine LOVE of the early powerstroke engines because it costs the 7.3 drivetrain price plus the trans upgrade plus the near complete new body style truck price and all that will be left for scrap is the gutted 7.3' cab and the dead drivetrain with about half it's engine and cab wiring harness. Oh and the $3500 labor charge to do the swap.
