I'm not a transgendered person, but as a woman I really love watching your videos on transitioning. You offer a perspective on womanhood that I would not have otherwise known. To be honest, it's pretty mind blowing to me that these are things that transgendered women have to keep in mind if trying to pass in American society. I really enjoy your videos Autumn! Ps you have an incredible body! :)

Autumn dear, I am MTF and have a lot of trouble with my voice. I am embarrassed at my voice. I think I have the posture and the mannerisms but the voice is horrible. The key item I did pick from this video was to be observant. I really need to be more aware of how other females act and behave... I think I am good in some aspects and not so good at others. Thanks for the advice and I will keep working at it.

You're a very strong and inspiring person for being so open about your life. No matter how hard it may have been. And may still be. I as a stranger can say I'm proud of you without ever have meeting you.

I understand that a transgender/sexual person desires to be recognized as their desired gender (after all that is what makes them feel comfortable)...But isn't it so fucked up how some people feel obliged to in order to be accepted? People with gender dysphoria should not be scrutinized for their disorder or called out on the street. By the way Autumn I can really tell that you're getting more confident in your videos, I hope your doing well. I'm happy for you :) .
@LilTeaBag10 жыл бұрын
Just thought I'd say that women in general have to a lot of extra things and body/mannerism modifications to do in order to be accepted by western society. Shaving body hair, applying make-up, wearing heels, staying or getting slim, look or act a certain way. Im a cisgender female and decide not to comply -at least, not go crazy- to those requirements, however it is not always easy. Just my 2 cents :) Cheers!

Em Sn You seem on the right tracks. But may I politely remind you that it's not a disorder of any kind.

DohvahQuiin The term disorder isn't a negative thing. Gender dysphoria is a disorder hence people with it feel as if something is wrong and affects their quality of life.

I loved this video! I personally isn't transgender or transsexual, but we need more videos out there about this subject. Not just videos from professionals and doctors, but from people who have been through it themselves (like you). And even if you didn't do the best job as a male (read the comment below haha :p) we still understood your point and it was great that you showed the difference. Maybe you can do a more in depth video on how you passed to a female and all that? I'm sorry if you already have a video like that, I'm just too lazy to look through all your videos haha :) Also! You're stunning!! xo

As a cis woman, I'm surprised to find that I sometimes do both mannerisms. That is, sitting with my legs apart in a lax manner, while still gesticulating like a woman. I don't know, I think it just depends on the person. If they look their gender, they don't have to behave fully like their gender stereotype, just do what comes naturally and they're comfortable with.

You advices are kind, so kind. I for one would never pass and life in general would fall apart, aside from the fact that the place I live is transphobic, and maybe therefore I enjoy when a person like you talk about being woman, how and what. Another great video, Autumn. Nice to see the rest of you as we usually only get to see you from the chest up. Some very good advice here too. I'm not ready to think about trying to pass just yet, but this information will be very useful should I ever decide to go down that path. If only I knew exactly what I wanted and wasn't so confused. 1 minute I'm thinking that I need to transition as soon as possible, the next I'm thinking that maybe it's just my OCD taking over...and then I start obsessing about that.
@geordielaforge16437 жыл бұрын
Thank you Autumn for being the only trans person who lists observation of women as a tip for passing :) it obviously works, as you are one of a handful of trans women who have not jumped out as unnatural to me. I often find the farcical way trans women dress, move and behave offensive as it doesn't represent the true nature of women and femininity. You quite clearly understand what is at the heart of womanhood and respect it :)

I definitely need to work on my appearance as I tend to naturally have female mannerisms! The thing is.. I feel like I'm more passable when I'm wearing _less_ makeup. Is that weird? This is all good advice. Your intentions are good. The problem with observing other women is that so many of them look and act like slobs. we are talking cotton tee shirts, boring jeans, flip flops, no makeup, no hairstyle, overweight... With mannerisms, most women are not AS bad as men but seldom is it delicate. I see women like that and I step outside myself and say, "Well, there you have it! That is how women look and act!" Then I step back in and think, "Naw, I will just keep being my own woman."

personally I wouldn't define myself as "trans", i'm more of an androgyn guy, and I really like femininity as a central point in my style I like darker styles like goth/visual kei/punk ecc and I create my style mixing aspects of those depending on how I feel when it comes to aspect I could "pass" as a girl if I wanted to , but despite me liking to look as femine as possible I still identify and act mostly as a boy and I don't really know if I would like to be a female 100% I have moments when I'm much more feminine and moments when i'm much more masculine, mostly depending by my moods of the day I think the best I could possibly being is something like a "shapeshifter" being able to change from a guy to a girl in any moment, but sadly that's not possible I am for the most part happy with what I am...but sometimes I wish I could do more than just this...and even if I have to become a girl I would still act like a man since I don't really feel acting girly part of me ...so what would be the point of doing it in the end?

This is something cisgender ppl take for granted . A cis female can go out in a pair of baggy sweat pants, and an old tshirt, without her gender even being questioned. I have a funny situation, and IU understand lots of trans women do too. If I dress kinda butchy or tomboyish a lot of times I'm seen more as a woman, but when I go all out fem, some ppl say I look like a guy in drag, it's like the contrast, when I wear masculine clothes it brings out the natural feminity in me, and femines clothes bring out the masculine triats. ANd I have to say and I hope you don't get offended at this, but when you held that cup in a masculine way it REALLY made you look feminine like someone who's female enough she can do something boyish and STILL look like a girl.

Hm. Most of what is considered feminine, with regards to mannerisms and such, are what I tend to do. Walking with my legs closer together, and lighter steps is more comfortable for me than more spaced out and heavier. I have to assume that it is due to growing up in a mostly female household. Although I personally lack a sense of gender identity.

Thats exactly what Automn said. Its wonderful how open and aware her vision is, she is such a great role model of self acceptance and love - even if we can all struggle with that, probably herself too at times. She is simply guiding peeps who wish to have tips on the passing matter, and her video did that brilliantly. Im a cisgender female, and i dont wear make up often, but i would have no problem encouraging a girlfriend that is having a hard time with her self esteem and appearance to wear a little make up and dress up or do her hair sometime, even if its not her normal style. Its all about giving u a boost that may make u feel more confident. Thats why women shave their legs and wear heels for example, and we could argue that its against nature. But its what society considers beautiful, and every person may decide if they go with that or not. I decide not to go with it, but i understand that if other people do it is because it makes them feel good. But as Autumn said, its a matter of choice and what makes u feel comfortable and confident and beautiful.

You are a very beautiful woman. I love to dress as a woman but I am doing it secretly from my wife. I love how it makes me feel. I feel so much better as a woman than I ever felt as a man. I have been working on my walk and mannerism and I have shaved many parts of my body gradually so that they are not noticeable. I really want to go further and start hormones and eventually implants and surgeries for a complete transformation but I don’t know if I will ever get there. I have become bolder in my transformation and it is not so difficult and embarrassing for me to buy pumps and other garments anymore. I feel like a woman when I am shopping. I know my wife will eventually find out and I am almost hoping she will but I don’t think she will be accepting of it. She is old fashioned and very religious, I know we will end up separating and divorced. I think if this happens I’m going to move elsewhere and live as a woman and do all the changes to my body that I have been dreaming of doing. I would never go back to being a male. I am so happy being a woman. Thank you!

I wish I could pass and was as cute as you, but surgery is 30,000$ even tho that for sure will make me pass IMO (scared it won't. but I think it will) my body can't be helped fully :( and I get a panick attack after every shower looking at my face in the mirror. when I see myself i feel like a truck just hit me or that i've been stabbed in the face

the funny thing is me a closeted MTF have to constantly trainin myself to act female. I never k re how much of my posture and mannerism in general was female even before I found out there are transgender people
