KFC chicken used to be some of my favourite food in the world before I went vegan, and any occasion I'd have it would genuinely make my day. Yes, I do occasionally walk by KFCs, yes I do smell that smell I used to love so much, and it is appetising. But that's the end of it. This isn't some torturous situation I'm put in, and any amount of displeasure I get from walking on (the horror) is immediately counteracted by the knowledge of the cruelty that this sort of food requires. I imagine for that sort of craving to make you quite miserable would involve making a much bigger deal out of it than it actually is to you.

And if you include the host, it's already outnumbered. 3) The vegan must have an amazing answer for every single question thrown at them, but those answers can and often are ignored and brushed aside. 4) The carnie is allowed to Not have answers to responding questions from the vegan, can deflect responsibility, and can just ignore points made and move on to the next talking point without ever addressing what was said or corrected. 5) Despite everything listed, the carnie is not obligated to change their view. But STATING that they have not changed their view, is used to discredit the reasoning from the vegan. Exactly - a number of birds confined in a small space with no escape route, introduce a predator. No wonder there's literally carnage. Whereas in the wild, a number of birds spread out roosting in low branches - Charlie might get 1 if he's lucky. No "sadism"

@@pacmanmcgavin7034 lol Pac-Man I respect the persistence, I think we’d actually get along in real life in some weird screwy way. I think we can agree to some point, millions of people don’t eat any animal products and thrive, so regardless of whether or not we can, the question is always “should we”. We could also all drive Hummers but I think you would agree that would probably not be a great idea. There’s common ground somewhere, I’m sure of it.

As always, Ed Winter is unbeatable when it comes to addressing illogical arguments that lack factual basis. Many people express opinions shaped by hearsay, without considering the consequences of their daily choices, especially when it comes to the violence and mistreatment involved in their meals. Ironically, if they were subjected to similar treatment, they would cry out for help. It's unfortunate that we find ourselves in this position today, largely because the majority have not adopted the golden rule: don't engage in behavior you wouldn't want used against you. This responsibility begins with each individual. The UN, for example, celebrates International Day of Peace every year on September 21, with events that include music performances and the symbolic release of caged doves, followed by people hugging each other with big smiles. Yet, many of those involved are also participants in war activities. What’s the point of celebrating peace when the organizers are the ones instigating wars and distributing weapons worldwide? This world needs a major shift in perspective. Peace should start on our plates, not be something we imagine is needed only far away. Otherwise, we expose ourselves to the very consequences we perpetuate. Whatever you participate in today-whether positive or negative-will eventually return to you. Positive actions bring positive outcomes, while negative actions bring negative ones. Thank you, Ed, for the important advocacy you’re doing. Peace and love be with you.
