Bill Bixby made sure Betty made it into her seat safely, which was so wonderful, but Allen's "Thank you Bill", was even more so! Such respect by the men not just to the women, but to each other! So glad I was a youngster when this was still prominent, I got to witness it all the time; most impressionable!

I miss that too! I hope it comes back, but I have my doubts. Whenever I watch these I wish I could just go back and live in that time instead of this miserable abomination of the future those people would never imagine America could become. So sad. It is so surprising and touching to see Richard Dawson -- the ultimate Mr. Cool on Match Game -- so EMOTIONAL on this show! The stakes were high and he cared about the charitable organization. He talked about it many years later on his Television Academy interview. He played in the family week Password episodes with his son Mark. (Film date: February 3, 1974) Has anyone seen those episodes? There are photos on Getty Images; they played against other parent-child combos of Jack Cassidy, Florence Henderson and Helen Reddy. (Updated: I thought it was Dawson's son Gary, but I'm pretty sure now it was Mark, his older son.)

gameshowfreak2007 Could be one of those things where a franchise decides to get back to the basics after a big run.
@jehobden7 жыл бұрын
I think it was having to hand out the "wallets" to the players, especially the civilian contestants on the ends of the table, which aggravated Allen Ludden's stomach against the inside of the podium. The podium was eventually padded for Allen, but he soon succumbed to stomach cancer, which was the real reason for his stomach pain.
@KiddBloo862 жыл бұрын
Perhaps the set budget for Password +Plus could only afford the wallets. I could see standards & practices preferring the wallets to this monitor setup.
