Pastor Mike Todd had a very strong presentation of the sin of pornography, a very much convicting video which lead me to break down asking Jesus to forgive me of such a wretched sin which plagued me since a young boy. After being lead to Jesus I started to read scripture, accepted Christ as my Savior and eventually got baptized. After reading/studying God’s Word I was grateful to have the Holy Spirit show me the issues to stay away from, including some teachers. I’m glad now to be lead by God’s word rather than idolizing these pastors, and I pray Mike repents and humbles himself, as I of coarse need to do everyday. 🙏🏼

@@alex_angri Yeah. There are church's that pretty much only do that, and the sunday service is realistically just for newcomers and events. The goal is to progress your relationship with god using his teachings(bible), not to perform rituals(going to church on sundays just to go). It can take a while to find the right place, but it's the journey and your progression in your relationship that matters not the building. Plus it depends on where you are in that relationship, do you need god in your heart(study his teachings and go to classes, build a relationship) or do you have god in your heart and want to offer your services(you can build buildings, so you donate your time to help house homeless within your community/you can sing and play instruments so you offer your time to play for the church choir and help kids with their talents). It's not a place for you to go week to week and put $10 in the basket because you feel like crap.. There are SO many ways to contribute and learn. Don't be afraid to step away from your main church to look for better options. Like I keep saying, the end goal is YOUR relationship with god and following his teachings NOT the building. Find a church that works for you and run with it. Seriously, it's night and day when you walk into a building and you know "these are my people. i need to be here"

Anyone can interpret the Bible however THEY like, and once they tickle enough ears, they can get a following. Then they do this, or cause their wives to "commit suicide" or kick the bible like a football or have male pole dancers or other crazy stuff. Sola scriptura is a doctrine from hell because it means anyone can twist the Bible to mean what they want and start a "church". The original early first generation Christians didn't even have Bibles yet until like 380AD.

As a Catholic it heartens me to see other Christians condemning the desecration of Holy things. We have things that are Holy too - tangible things that help lead us to Christ. Christianity isn’t all in our heads. Christ became incarnate, He has a physical presence. Even touching His garment was an act of faith, trusting in the healing power of He he wore it. The respect for Holy things is good. To those outside Christianity, the lofty understanding of Christians that the Bible is truly the very “Word of God” might seem extreme, but we understand the reality conveyed to us in these words that were first written down in ink so many centuries ago and then carefully copied by monks on pages over and over through the centuries since until the printing press made the process of spreading the Word easier. We don’t “worship” the Bible but we treat it with due reverence, it is NOT just another book. Catholics have other physical items deemed to be Holy that we respect too, things that convey the reality of the transforming power of Christ’s love to those who repent and come to Him with humble hearts. Maybe seeing the desecration by this pastor can lead to a bit more understanding between Protestants and Catholics. Respect for Holy items is good. Please understand that anything Catholics consider to be Holy is purely based on faith in the work of God and reverence for God.

I do not agree with Todds message. But I do have to say that some christians worship the Bible, as a physical book, too much. Yes, the Bible is the living word of God and it is holy. But it is very much alive. The physical copies of Bibles are not to be worshipped, but the living word within it. Idk if you get what I mean. The israelites started worshiping the ark of the covenant and carrying it at the front of battle because they thought it could save them. But God punished them for it. Because even though it is written that God dwells in the arc of the covenant, He did not agree with the way it was worshipped. So I think we need to be careful, not to idealize the physical copies of the Bible. I heard some people don't put anything on top of their Bible, to not "disrespect it." I think that's wrong because it's just a copy, you cannot disrespect His Word by just putting something on top. Idk just wanted to share my opinion.. btw english is not my first language so please excuse any mistakes ❤
