@Stygian Eons but christians consider their god to be genderless and bobyless, so they call it god, but it's deity, it's genderless , and it has been interpreted as genderless or both genders before, specially in fiction works. there is a movie about a guy who could not enter heaven for being a sexist asshole who was horrible to women, so god sent him back in a woman's body to find a woman that has genuinely liked him( i don't know the title), and there god is referred as both he and she , because is both and neither, it even had a male and female voicse that overlaps. in dogma, god is first in a human man's body and then appears with a female form and is called " she" by metatron, etc. this are movies from the 90's and before, so i don't why everyone is so surprised by god being called a she in a song now. specially as it was said in the original comment of this line, billy is not even talking about the christian god, but about mother nature and mixing imaginery and myths.

@Stygian Eons they are evidence that god has been called female before in enterteiment, this is a song, is enterteiment too, is not been to be taken more seriously than a movie in the religuous context. just like the first of the two movies i mentioned( who ends being more of a drama ) the religious imagery is not the message or the serious part, in that movie the part to be taken seriously is the sexism women have to deal with from men like the protagonism who ends up getting a taste of his own ways in the female body( in fact he is raped while being passed out drunk by his/her drunk best friend). in this songs, even if it uses religious things ( like the movie) the serious message is the danger of climate change, everything else is only a tool to tell a story about it, so the artist is free to use them as she wants , like the creators of the movie did.

It is the age old saying do not judge a book by its cover. For example I am agnostic and I tend to like to wear black shirts preferably, but than I am judged that I must be a devil worshiper. I never said being a Christian is wrong and I never said I worshiped the devil. In all reality I do not believe in the devil at all that is the one thing I am in defiant about everything else I always say I have ideas because everything is plausible truth and false in till proven otherwise. To add I am also a vegetarian and believe in global warming and if any Christian took a second they would realize that maybe that is more important to worry about than weather not someone worships the devil or not. The waters that are rising and putting parts of islands and lands under water, and gives that a "biblical" standpoint, like the water (the fires, pollution, world) will get so high and uncontrollable that even God will look towards her enemy for help. People will be looking for anyone to help fix something they themselves have damaged, and I think the song is speaking on that, like why are we even trying anymore if no one is helping now

The way I've come to understand the part of "she'd want the devil on her team" is that she's speaking about an hypothetical girl during the dawn of the final days. Water starts rising, maybe as part of a biblical flood or as a reference to global warming causing the end of the world, but God would not accept her into heaven as it has enemies as well (those being the non-believers). Thus, she will want the devil as it will be the one that will offer her salvation. This would tie up with the idea of being in heaven unable to invite anyone as a take on the idea of God's selective salvation.

Although it may not seem like it at first, billie plays characters in her music videos. She plays off of fears of her own and enemies in her past. One way I interpreted bury a friend and all the good girls go to hell was through the lenses of her entering the music industry and realm of celebrity status. She has to bury herself to become the pop idol people want her to be. She loses part of her humanity and shakes the devils hand in the exchange. I get that you all saying that it’s about global warming and she’s not a devil worshiper.. then why she says things like “My Lucifer is lonely” “The debt I owe gotta sell my soul cause I can’t say no” and also other things... even in the beginning of the music video of this song, she use what happened to Lucifer inside of the Bible of when he was kicked out of heaven from betraying god, god kicked him out he fell straight to hell.... Majority of people in the music industry sells their soul through their contract but ends up regretting it later in life and falls in depression and regrets their decision (for example: xxx tentacion) And I don’t hate Billie, I really love her but I feel so sad that she’s suffering because of this and all the things adding on to her depression. I just hope that there’s a way that she can get out of this. Justin Bieber was involved with it but now someone who was close to him introduced him to God and he praises everyday that he changed his life. Him being so young in the industry and people took advantage of him, I hope that he can help her and bring a light in her life so she can find happiness

I’ve heard of Billie before, but this is the first song I’ve actually listened to. I think, as the pastor said in the video, there are a lot of concepts strung together, global warming, segregation, good and evil, etc. I think the true meaning of this song is simply to get viewers to tear down their own psychological walls and look at different viewpoints on life as a whole. The idea that, just because you believe in something different, doesn’t mean your belief is wrong. That’s just what it means to be human, that you can disagree with your friends and neighbors and that’s ok, that’s the whole concept of free will, the right to make your own choice without someone making you feel like you’ve done something wrong for following your own path.

I think this song is about an angel that was invited to earth for help us, but after the angel see how earth is now, he was like disappointed like the song say " you know i'm not your friend without some greenery" i think the angel heard this from humans, or when the song say " there's nothing left to save now" , and when the song say Lucifer is lonely, it's like god can't save us if we don't change
