Pat Riley assured Lebron he would get a 4th star for the Heat IF he re-signed. No one knows who the 4th star would've been but the assurance wasn't enough to convince Lebron to stay with the 58-24 Heat. Instead he left for the lottery 37-45 Cavs. Regardless of the what could've beens, the 2016 championship with the Cavs is arguably the greatest run ever. I don't think another team would ever win a title again given the circumstances. It was The Decision that probably defined Lebron's legacy.

Actually, Draymond getting kicked out of the Finals had more to do with LeBron's "legacy" than any of the league-destroying team-jumping that LeBron did himself
@RickySare-jm8po4 күн бұрын
@@HughJorgan09 so I guess James Worthy missing games 4 & 5 in 1991; Cedric Ceballos & Richard Dumas missing the entire '93 playoffs had more to do with Jordan's legacy. Second, Lebron finished his contracts with the Cavs, Heat, and the Cavs in his 2nd go-round. He didn't force trades like Kawhi, KD, Kyrie, Harden, and Ben Simmons. It's legal & ethical to change employers once your contract is ended.

@@RickySare-jm8po A whole lot of running your mouth, without saying one word about a wanna-be G.O.A.T. begging folks to team up, so that he can win a title. And then, of course, after THEY teach HIM how to be a champion, he tries to have things re-written, as though HE carried THEM, like HE taught THEM how to win it all! If anything, the way things worked out really should enhance D Wade's legacy, since a LeBron, who didn't know how to win a title begged to come, sit at an already-champion's feet, and, acquire that which he didn't already possess.

If he had stayed with the Heat until today, there's a huge butterfly effect that needs to be imagined. For sure, Riley / Lebron would have gone big game hunting by around 2016 with the Bosh health issues. Drafts, trades, and free agencies would all have gone differently.

As a Heat fan, my only issue with Bron when he left was he forced Miami to send Cleveland two 1sts and three 2nds to get his Bird Rights. Obviously, they didn't need his Bird Rights. The gut punch when he left was Cleveland owned Miami's 1st the year he went back.

I think he still wins 4 championships. Definitely wins the 2016 one. Bron and the Cavs struggled to get any real traction with superstars wanting to come to Cleveland. So, how much does that change if Bron is in Miami, and Pat riley has been pretty protective of his assets.

Pat Riley just saying this because he thinks it sounds good. Everybody could see that Wade’s body was breaking down and he wasn’t the same. Also, Riley is not taking any accountability for not making roster improvements where needed. I could tell after the 2013 championship, that if roster weren’t made they wouldn’t be able to win again in 2014. But Riley sat back and did nothing to improve the roster.

Too much of a hypothetical situation. We know riley Competitive sonhe would adjust and change rosters. Could he have won 3 more in all this time is plausible. But it's a matter of a bunch of what-if scenarios. The current team at the time, perhaps 1 or 2 more, isn't out of the question. But then it would need reconstruction. Too hard to tell what those adjustments would be to either way say yes or no they would have.

Fun game to play here. I think if LeBron stays they can win that first season against golden state. Bosh didn't play the 2nd part of the year or playoffs due to blood clots. But that LeBron and Wade would have been a much better match up then the Kevin Love less and Irving less Cavs team that played G.s. in the finals. The next season. No! It took a miracle and a 3-1 come back with love and Irving healthy to win that series. Bosh returned that year, then had the same issue yet in his leg. And his career was over. Wade was no longer prime wade. And that golden state team wins that series. Here is the huge plot twist. Durant does not join g.s. as they had just won the title. Durant joins the heat instead. Remember bosh was waved to save money from the cap and free up space. I'm not sure how it happens. But pat daddy figures it out. Heat win the next 2 instead of G.S. and history is completely rewritten. That's my what if moment ! :-)

They would've never won. They barely won in the end anyways it took a final shot from kyrie to ended. That was with an injuired team and without the likes of a healthy Steph and before kd ever joined them. Let's not for get prime klay was one of the best 2 way player too. It wasn't even klays prime yet. Draymond was already a great defender before reaching his prime too. If you think the heat had a no competition you're delusional.
