Also i love that after MC rips out his heart and crushes it, Louis isnt happy This whole time he's constantly give us the chance to join him so he's not happy when the MC dies, Louis is different to standard final bosses, he deep down probably wanted a friend to trust even if he found no value in them, but he ultimately came to respect us starting from nowhere and eventually making it to second place, he's less mad we tried to kill him twice than telling him he's wrong and doesnt believe in dreams

Will Metaphor giving Junah the Headmistress position feels nice because she always says she wants to be more than just her singing but it never really felt like she knew what to do otherwise, so the protag doing that feels like "Hey I know you would be great at this"

This is it, the final video of this series. Damn atlus hit the ball outta the park with p5 but this sailed into space! I hope Persona 6 can take tips from this and we see more fantasy hit bangers from them as well. More being the king is the least surprising thing ever. What IS surprising is that the king used to be surprisingly hot but then let himself go horribly. But after pat whooped his ass in four hits I'd rapidly age too. But yeah legit? I hope Metaphor isn't a one hit wonder and if they make other metaphors they all this high quality.

That's mainly because he hasn't controlled his anxiety but rather gave into it. Humans (the monster race) are the opposite of archetypes. The fact that he turns into a Human in the end shows that he is too far gone and has to be put out of his misery.

I love how they have the "all is lost moment" during the final boss like in other Persona games, but they play it smart and have it happen between phases. Earlier games always had it happen at the end, so it felt like the fight you had just finished was pointless and you could have lost at any time.

The only thing missing which is probably due to the ratings is EVERYONE should look like they are bloody and fucked up for the final fight. Like really sell the "sacrifice" moment that everyone is on their last legs beating down the destructor king and finally Louis.

​@@NeoBluereaper I'm not sure if that's even a rating thing, blood is pretty common even in the t/pg rating and they've had it sprinkled pretty regularly throughout the game up to now. They just... didn't use any here where it would really make sense outside of the heart scene for some reason.

It's actually kinda great that it cut that thread as a red herring. If it didn't do that, it would be effectively pulling a Star Ocean 3, which Pat hates. And honestly with his explanation of it, I agree with him.

After sitting through all of these VODs, something I have to bring up is how many narrative similarities this game has to Persona 5. Like, it's to a point where Metaphor feels like the game Hashino wanted to make but couldn't because the Persona franchise HAS to be about Japanese high school students. From the MC being a societal outcast and assembling a party of other societal outcasts to an election being at the climax of the narrative (an election that the protagonist cannot participate in for a Persona game since the protagonist of the games is always a minor). The similarities even run down to the ending cutscene being the party riding their vehicle to a far away land and into new adventures. Then if you're a freak superfan like me, you'll have dug into early concept art and developer interviews for Persona 5 talking about how Atlus wanted to incorporate action game elements into P5's dungeon crawling but couldn't because they had no experience with action games at the time (this concept clearly evolved into the overworld action combat of Metaphor after they acquired action game experience from collaborating with another studio on Persona 5 Strikers). It's weird to say but I think this game is a Metaphor for the Persona 5 that Hashino really wanted to make.

What a great game! It was really nice watching Pat play through it, this isn't the kind of game I would play myself but I sure did enjoy the story. Also, Pat overlevelling the final boss and turning him into a joke was very entertaining.

I wish I could have been there for this, amazing end to an amazing game. 3:09:28 Oh man I just realized, EACH of his wings has the eye pattern of one of the tribes on it. The Eugief and Mustari on the lowest wings, Rhoag on the highest left wing, Paripus on the middle left wing; right middle is Ishkia and right top is Nidian. Only the Clemar, Roussainte and Elda aren't shown because their eyes are more or less the same.

I feel like the decision to end the game on a chill stroll on the capital talking to all the people you met was the correct one. I've never like the lord of the rings type of ending of crowning the rightful king and acting like nothing is ever going wrong after. GRRM had the perfect point when he said that he wants to know what Aragorn's tax policies are, it's not that you need to get THAT into detail, but if you don't at least explain how the world is going to change beyond the good guys being in charge, it's very unsatisfying.

I kinda wish they'd spaced out the diatribes and monologues at the end a little more. You hang out with everybody before you go, then they all have something to say before the first fight, and before the second phase, and before the third phase, and after the third phase when your ship is hit by the big purple laser beam. Like aight I *get* it we had a whole game to characterize you guys! Everybody shut up and *fight!* I'm glad they gave you the little end game run-around to check up on folks, though. Loved it overall.

This game was such a treat. It hits so right compared to a lot of other games I've played. I love the setting so much more than Persona and SMT. Really hoping we get another game in this universe, there could be potential for it what with Caterina talking about visiting some distant lands and all. Although, the after credits scene left off on the idea there could be more for our party to come though, I'd be so down for a direct sequel of some sorts. I'd give anything to play this game for the first time again just once more. I'll eat all this shit up.

Louis's speech before phase 1 made me think his motivation stemmed from how he hated Forden's anxiety's about the Prince made him turn society and the army against the elda and had them torch the Sanctum. But, what would he have thought if Forden got a big igniter and torched the Sanctum all by himself? He'd probably be the exact same chaos-focused character, but would idolize Forden for his strength instead.

I genuinely think the louis fight phase one before he turns into a human should have been like the ethegy fight in the dragon temple where he cycles through all the archetypes since just like the mc he's always believed his path Then when we beat him he gives into anxiety and turns into the human because he starts to doubt himself since his whole thing is might makes right but then we beat him but he cant accept it which would make his entire framwork false and the contradiction would corrupt him into the human form after the fight with Mores

Having now finished the game, my one complaint is the the one v one with More should've taken place IN SHIBUYA, and not in some other dimension. I can only assume modeling a whole new battle environment for a single battle was not cost effective, but damn it would've been cool.

Man it really amazes me how Basillio consistently gets the short end of the stick. Japan does this with all their dark skinned characters- but he joins really late then his epilogue self's future is NOT becoming a cook but Neuras DOES??? Makes no sense, Neuras should of became an inventor of more skyrunners for supply shipments and Basillio should of became a bounty hunter that kills remaining humans and monsters around poor disenfranchised places and then turns in the high bounties to the king so he can give the money to the poor and also use a bit to cook them feast- leaving the people in the morning with more resources in the end. It would at least made sense for him not appearing in the timeskip scene dripped out- him becoming the THIRD of the party's knight protectors when hulkenburg, heimsmay AND stroll also are leading men feels like they didn't know what to do with him so, make him another knight/cop I guess. I mean it's not terrible but man does he get left to the wayside alot, and while in my alternative; I'd be disappointed not to see him in a cool outfit, I'd at least not be disappointed he didn't show up with said cool outfit in the 2d cutscene, that's a missed art making opportunity. If I had a decent close up I would of loved drawing that, instead of poorly eyeballing it...they really be doing my dog dirty.

There's obviously a lot of cut content. It's odd how his first fight doesn't even revolve around him awakening, but around Junah and Rella. The Mage Academy was definitely supposed to be a full level. I'd imagine after Rella's challenge, Basilio tags along, still grieving his brother's death. Then as they enter the Mage Academy, there's an encounter that endangers Junah which forces Basilio to overcome his fear of losing someone else and awaken to his Archetype.

If you spend time on the runner with Bas outside of his bond, he specifically states that he can't pursue his restaurant dream without Del. He then asks the MC for ideas and you can suggest heading up a brigade. However, I do agree this should have been mentioned in a more prominent place. Also, Neuras did not become a chef. That was the translated journal from his mentor who apparently became a chef in that village. Talking to Neuras outside, he states he has that big long chief engineer title and is still tinkering with inventions as he pleases.

God watching this pisses me off because I did not have heismay last skill and the that final boss is bullshit because at a certain point after he does all his attacks he gains like 4 more turn and does that infinitly until you kill him

"Dodger Ring" exists, which gives anyone the same "Depletes enemy's Turn Icons when the user evades an attack" skill. Alternatively, you can grind "Mirror" accessories from the big boy tooth enemies in Tyrant's Star, of which there are two - one grants Repel to all Physical affinites, and the other grants Repel to all Magic affinities. I had "Dodger Ring" on MC (since I've put a lot of points into Agility), Physical Repel on Strohl and Magic Repel on both Junah and Eupha. And since Destroyer Charadrius loves doing AoE attacks, he's all but guaranteed to lose all Turn Icons no matter what. Was cathartic to watch after he bummed me hard the first time, not gonna lie.
