​@@Zangelin The only thing they really removed from the mike section was him pushing down the water tower (which admittedly is badass and missed). But the amount of time Mike is around during gameplay is actually like ten minutes longer than the original, I played both this week and just checked KZbin to confirm. I actually didn't realize until I just checked how little Mike was actually around during the original game. Plus his machine gun fire melting enemies looks so fucking rad in the remake and I love how his introduction is in gameplay and not a cutscene, really surprised me in my first playthrough.

My first time shooting a glock, I jammed it about 3 times in a row. It's surprisingly easy to do if you're not properly controlling your recoil, so it's not too far a stretch that it would happen to Ashley. Still incredibly lucky though

Min max ur charms pat. You don't need to keep the ada charm on if you're running around in game and not repairing something. Equip it, repair, replace it with a crafting or speed bonus when playing.

"So [Salazar's] just a bad seed." I think the game intentionally makes it unclear. Yes, he did throw vitriol into a servant's face for calling him "Pulgarcito" behind his back, but considering the obvious trauma he endured growing up as a "demon child that should have never been born," and the fact that his mother apparently made a deal with the devil to cure Salazar's illness (likely implying that Saddler "saved" him by infecting him with a dominant species of Plagas), who knows what he could have been if he had a normal upbringing? Were his evil tendencies nature or nurture? The game certainly doesn't try to pull a MGS4 "you should feel bad for hurting the villains" moment on us, but it is kind of amazing how Capcom managed to make something as repulsive and abhorrent as monster-form Salazar somewhat sympathetic.

Krauser really traded his soul (and his body) for gross knife-hands and called it 'Ultimate Strength' What was he planning to do next time he needed with wipe his ass? Also, hot take but Leon probably should have shot Ada in the back at the end there. Letting her get away with the same type of Plaga that Saddler had just means that there's gonna be another evil Plaga cult later, right (I never played 5 or 6, is that what causes those outbreaks?) I get that she's Bae or whatever, but letting her go could lead to hundreds of thousands of deaths. Sure, she changed her mind when Wesker said 'Billions dead' but he could have just lied to her and said that they were going to experiment on it till destruction, or whatever. Leon had no way of knowing that she was gonna have a change of heart. The fact that she even left the island with it in the first place means that she did intend to hand it over, at first.

Regarding the age of Ashley discussion: she's 20. She was always 20, even in the original. Some commented/complained about the fact that OG Ashley looked, sounded, and behaved younger than her age, which is likely why they changed it for the remake. Ashley looks and behaves much closer to how a typical 20 year old American girl would now.

I'm guessing Wesker found her and took the Amber by force in this continuity, they probably made Ada change her mind in the remake because it was wild how she just casually helped cause a mass outbreak that killed thousands in africa, lol. Watching this for the first time completely blind. I gotta say if I have one complaint about this game it’s that they really cut down on the interaction with Salazar. Pat is about to do the boss fight and I feel like we have barely seen him. On a related but less important note, we have barely seen Saddler at all either. Edit: Ok, Leon shooting him in the face mid-monologue is pretty sick though.

When he replayed RE4 solo in this channel (once a couple years ago, during his RE Marathon to celebrate the release of R3R, and one more time right before the release of RE4R) he used the TMP and found out it was better than he thought, I've been using it for years and I can't live without that gun.

The original is a completely different game, playing this is not a substitute for playing that. The remake is fantastic, but don't let yourself miss out on a part of gaming history if you're at all interested. It may use an "outdated" kind of movement controls, but if they were "bad" controls it wouldn't be as popular as it is. The game is very much designed around the controls and camera it has. Most enemies won't even attack you if you're not looking directly at them, they'll circle back into your vision.

Ashley is so much more likeable in this game. She’s extremely out of her element but she tries to keep up with Leon as best she can, despite her limited applicable skills. She’s not a useless damsel like in the original. Also glad they got rid of the panty shots because those were unnecessary and stupid.

There is 3 annoying little muzzles in the game, but it was common practice before covid insanity, in japan at least, to wear a paper mask when YOU are sick to not spread disease, and both leon and ashley are hacking up blood. I do find it hilarious though that i have seen no one at all who plays this for youtube/twitch use the mask for more than a short time. Motherfuckers were really out here in american pop culture trying to sell the mask as a new fashionable accessory, and the masks ingame remind me of that.
