Yes, we get that many folks do like that, which is why a lot of what we film now includes time on the GoPro camera which picks up our voices. Music is a personal preference thing but necessary for slow-mo footage which doesn't allow audio. Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for watching.

4:48 to 4:55 - Priceless! Love how that second twitch sold it. The East Branch of the Delaware, referenced previously, is a tailwater that has the character of a spring creek. I fish it regularly and have used many of your techniques with good success. Honestly wouldn't believe the difference the use of very long leaders make until I committed to it this season. The truth is, that fishing's only as good as you are! And you two would kill it anywhere. Good luck in Chile and can't wait for new vids.
@jensenflyfishing3 жыл бұрын
We knew what he was talking about for sure - the bigger talking point is in asking why people are so keen to say "that won't work here" to any video or article when, clearly, the video was sharing how the fishing was on a specific piece of water. It's like a video of building a snowman in the arctic and saying that you can't build a snow man in the desert. Who knew? ;) But to your point the long leader game changes a lot once you get used to the dynamics of casting and casting different combinations of flies, droppers, etc. :)

Brilliant video, don’t worry about handling them so carefully, you should knock them all on the head and have a nice fry up. In Patagonia, trout have led to a decrease in tadpoles and frogs, crustaceans and native fish like the Patagonian smallmouth perch (Percichthys trucha) and the Patagonian silverside (Odontesthes microlepidotus). They also threaten the survival of water birds, such as the hooded grebe (Podiceps gallardoi), a fragile native species. Loved the slow mo takes, wonderful camera work 👍

Glad you enjoyed the video. 😊 Man has been the worst perpetrator of alien propogations. Grain crops where there were none, chickens, cattle, forestable tree species, and on and on it goes. Sport fisheries and fish farming are right there as well. None of us eat nor exist without provision of some environment altering implementation. And we all seem to have our lines that are acceptable on one hand but unacceptable on the other. We're all part of a mass herd that's trampling over the earth and as they say... you can't stop a herd. Hopefully we can steer it tho! 🍻

You guys are so skilled! What a beautiful setting too. I just picked up the sport in the last year and was wondering if the false casts in some of the shots were to try and get the correct distance, or for another reason? I’m finding that getting the right distance on my casts is a challenge.
@jensenflyfishing3 жыл бұрын
We're fishing here with 15' leaders to lay the fly in without disturbing the fish. On that size a stream you can imagine that doesn't leave much room for rod length or much fly line and casting 3 feet of fly line and 15' of leader requires a little more line speed and an extra start up flase cast. Other scenes... yes... imperative to set the casting trajectory and feel the distance otherwise you miss the opening in the weeds or wind up in the bush. Best advice? Practice with a plastic dinner plate in your backyard and try to lay your fly on it from varying distances. Any cast that touches the plate is a winner. See if you can get 8 or 9 of 10 from 20 to 25' from your body. Short casts with long leaders are hard but practise gets you there! 🍻

WHY DO PEOPLE PUT LOUD MUSIC ON FISHING VIDEOS. I STOPPED WATCHING JUST AFTER 2 MINUTES.
@jensenflyfishing3 жыл бұрын
The rational, lower case text answer to your question is that it was filmed in hfr video meaning there is actually no audio track, unfortunately. The upside is the slow mo eats and really cool video of the Rhea feet in full flight. The downside is it's virtually impossible to work with for a longer video. Thank you for asking.
