"Have you ever been deeper than 30 m? If not, it's time to let it go!" - Are you kidding? I lost a watch I really liked that was 3 atm because I once wore it on a hike in summer, and it turns out I was sweating a bit too much and a bit of sweat got into the case and ruined the movement forever. A $45.000 "sporty" watch shouldn't be at risk of falling apart because your wrist gets sweaty. That said, it's nice to hear the opinion of the only watch KZbinr who has something nice to say about this thing.
@v.t.31942 ай бұрын
Exactly. 30 m is not to be taken literally, it means you can risk to wash your hands without taking off the watch. 50m means „you can wash your hands a little longer“ and 100m is safe for ordinary swimming on the surface. 200 m is for real diving.

@@v.t.3194so sweaty wrists shouldn’t have been an issue then?
@v.t.31942 ай бұрын
@@ailestriker9888no, sweaty wrists should not have damaged a 30m wr watch. Maybe your case was damaged or the case back was not properly screwed to the case, allowing moisture to reach the movement. @manfriendlychurch2 ай бұрын
30m is the static pressure of water at 30m, not depth you can take the watch. Movement of the wrist/watch increases the pressure so it will leak. I would assume a fault with the case of the watch is the reason the sweat got in.

Hi Britt, You’re very good at being tactfully balanced. My view is the Cubitus looks like it could be the unwanted offspring of a Nautilus, Santos and Bell & Ross threesome but no one knows who the actual parents are. It’s visually repellent. ‘Next gen’ Patek owners have many other more interesting and better designed watches to choose from. This is a big miss. Also, re: water resistance. 30m is dress watch levels of resistance and doesn’t usually mean a depth rating. It means it is splash proof and no swimmable. That’s also a miss for young generation buyers I expect as it would be for most people wanting an integrated metal sports watch.

Sorry, but I'm calling it. I've owned a few PPs and currently my favourite is my 5170G (see my video). But, this is an elbow to the gut, at least for PP purists. They've clearly cheapened out on the rotor finishing and that kills it for me, even before we start to look at the "Cartier Santos", dressed up differently. Sure, it will be available at launch, hoarders will pre-order these in in the hope that in a few years this reaches Nautili status. Sure, go for it, but the finishing of the movement is paramount, and for this price point, they've cut corners. We can't expect Lange or FP Journe level finishing, but at least the general level of PP finishing as of 4 years ago shouldn't be cheapened. Thanks, Britt, your content is great - keep 'em coming. I agree with your ending thoughts. It needed a bracelet more similar to the Royal Oak. And in my opinion, fit more like a vintage Royal Oak or Nautilus. 🤷🏾♂️. Still cool looking and exciting! Hopefully they will release smaller versions

A safe design by committee ruined by the Nautilus wings and same again boring hands and dial. I'd take a Santos over this every time.

Yeah honestly it would have just been a safe nice looking watch with a beautiful bracelet with the wings but with them the proportions don’t seem right 🤷♂️

Completely agree with your comment on the pricing. I think the 5205G is a far more beautiful piece versus the 5822P. I know it’s white gold versus platinum, but I’m not sure who would choose the 5822P over many other Pateks with a similar level of complications.

Makes way more sense than the Nautilus ever did. People tend to forget the hate both the Nautilus and the Aquanaut had back then. It's gorgeous

Well about the grand date...actually Girard Perregaux has done it before. The Vintage 1945 Grand Date Moon Phase, and the 10-digit and single digit do not have any boundary or any "frame". So don't know why Patek keep boasting about its technology or expertise on the 5822P model...

I like it , when people see what it’s worth second hand they will want one , obviously it will only go to the top Patek customers. Let’s face it the nautilus and aquanaut aren’t the best looking watches but still have ultra high demand. Patek certainly won’t worry about what is said on you tube about it . It will sell itself

I get it’s not the most creative, but I do like the contrast of the two tone, I could see it being my first square watch.

I actually don’t hate it, I just think the extra bump outs on the sides make it too wide. I just looks..off to the me for that reason.

When the nautilus and royal oak were introduced people said the same thing, look at them now. A company like PP knows what they are doing and think/plan decades in advance. This lineup will be a huge hit
