But even if you choose either endings, you can see how Viktor was desperate to somewhat have their attention and even calmly represent his idea to them. He didn't shout or yell when he came near them, we don't know what happened to him to become like this "yet" and I can't theorize what he did but even as a machine, he doesn't force people to become like him. He gave robotic limbs or arms to people who needed them and accepted the little boy's help (and probably took him in when he was cast out to Zaun). His ingame voice lines make him sound like a tyrant but he is not a bad person, he has humanity left in him.

I actually love where his story ended up though. Like, the tech stuff seemed like a stepping stone to something greater. The glorious evolution should be, ya know, glorious. And ascended astral Viktor in all his splendor is nothing if not glorious.

Man…I’m originally an Arcane fan, but tbh the more I learn about League Viktor and Jayce the more I understand why people liked them. And why they’re angry they got changed in the new update. Obviously I like their story in Arcane. Their relationship is very sweet. I also like what they decided to do with Viktor’s backstory. I think they did a very good job at making him complex and easy to empathize with. I also feel like the Arcane writers actually stayed pretty true to the friends, to enemies, to friends again plotline. But at the same time, their OG versions are also both very likable, and the whole frenemies thing they have going on is really endearing. And I think it’s just as entertaining to watch them fight each other as it is heartwarming to see them get along. Yeah, tbh if I was a League fan first I might be angry too. I agree they should have just had the Arcane skin/lore as a fun bonus feature. They shouldn’t have overhauled their whole characters.

Old viktor maybe was cool, but he was a fraud, he changed his body, didn't alter anyone without permission, and just like did nothing crazy, even created blitzcrank unlike arcane viktor, but like bro is he a nanny or somethin, he slit his body to replace it with machines, had a speech where he said emotions are stupid, all of that just to go to jayce and say "yeah here are plans to benefit all humanity", like this lore is just lacking, they made him seem like a crazy guy just to make him a semi-crazy guy but mostly pretty chill. Either they're making room for a real machine herald in the future, or they just simply sticked with the arcane version to quickly get it over with and give him a better lore
