Path of Exile 2 - Best Settings for Steam Deck!

I'd forget 40 fps. It can't get close to it in Act 2/3 and beyond. Personally, I've dropped everything to low, capped at 30fps and opted for 'balanced'. Any performance options is too blurry. Even then, you'll still drop to the 20s in busy areas. In short, it needs optimization.

How did you make xbox UI on your game?

Buddy, stop with the steam deck overlay just make the whole video the gameplay and add contrasting text showing the settings you're using. I don't understand why you are using so much screen real estate for a static image that adds nothing to the video especially when most people are watching on phones.

Thanks for your comment! I use the Steam Deck overlay because sharing the gameplay directly would look rough since the Deck outputs at 800p. The overlay helps make the visuals more polished and ties the gameplay directly to the Steam Deck experience. I understand it might not be everyone’s preference, but it’s a choice I’ve made to maintain quality and style.

This game makes the XSX come to a crawl with certain builds that use a lot of bumpmaping and particle effects like the witch firewal build and Ball Lightning builds, I have a LCD SD and this game on certain acts just pukes in performance, I wouldn’t dare try running maps after level 70 on the steam deck. POE 2 needs some serious optimization, even my i9/3070ti dips on 6 people parties with all spell effects going off.

Running XeSS leads to reproducible crashes for me on OLED with 3.5.x OS - did you notice any instabilities in that regard? No crashes whatsoever on Vulkan/FSR but XeSS just looks a lot better

Hmm I played for 2-3 hours on XeSS and did not experience any crashes on 3.6.20

Game is constantly stuttering for me. I put everything to lowest... I have around 40 fps but feels like 10 fps.

After the new patch I can't load the main game anymore. It just freezes loading after character selection

I see NIS seems giving more smoother play experience with 50 to 60 fps might bit compromise in picture quality but still good

I tried NIS in my previous video and it did not work out great for me, on a pretty chaotic boss fight it dropped below 30 fps

Why doesn’t any one sore how to make the HDR work on any game. On my steam deck Oled for every same I have tried (d4, RE4 and now POE2) it just becomes darker with washed out colors

Yep, seems to be bugged right now, it just becomes darker and washed out as you said thats why I have not mentioned it at all. I am waiting for an update from the developers and will try and showcase HDR too

Developers of PoE 2, not sure about the other games and what the issue is with them, I will look into it. Perhaps HDR doesn't work that well on SteamOS

Maybe make a video covering all steam deck verified games with HDR and show how HDR works and doesn’t work and which settings can be changed to make it work. Something like digital foundry videos do for PC games
