This might actually make me play PoE2, the level design looks better (no need for an overlay map anymore similar to what D4 did, so I can actually look at and enjoy the game) and the visuals aren't an eye sore anymore, combat looks fun and slightly challenging so I might not dose off while playing. Looks like D4 is about to have some competition.

Cooldowns would be fine when they just increase the variety of skills you use. Spamming just one skill can get tiresome as well.

I love this video because contrary to "some other company" it really looks like this game was designed by people who love ARPGs. It really looks like the team learned a lot from POE 1 I love the changes to passive spells not reserving mana, the weapon swapping, free spells on caster weapons. Looks incredible, can't wait to play :)

@@Will-ik1cb D4 campaign was enjoyable. getting to build and gear your class was fun as well. At 50 you get a new talent system and different world tiers as you progress drop tremendous gear improvements. Then you get to level 70 and it stops. Progress is basically non-existent, but at that point you'd rather not give up on the work you already put into the character. Alas 6 levels and way too much game time later, you just come to terms that level 100 just isn't going to be for you, that better gear will not drop anytime soon and that content has run out. That is why you see a wave of D4 players expressing their disappointment or straight up hate for the game.

The mechanics are quite innovative, very good work. I liked how they fought the boss at the end, with the sorc freezing and once he was frozen the monk come in with that ranged ice attack. It let the monk use his strongest spell, without having to apply the debuff on the boss.

first game is on console (PS4/Xbox One so backcompat) so this should also be on console too. considering the abilities and play style and flasks are designed better for console players in POE2, it's a no brainer. It's also free to play. It's the fairest free to play release, too. if you play it and like it then buy some stash tabs and you're set. Even if you buy them in POE1, you'll get them for POE2.

6:19 putting gold in the game is a cool idea imo. I think its important that new players see things they are familiar with, then it will be less daunting learning about other currencies I think. Plus you can put basic currencies for sale for gold like alts, transmutes etc. That is much more intuitive than PoE1 where you are selling scrolls and transmutes and what-not.

I kinda agree. Personally I feel bummed about this, but that's mainly cause I am so used to PoE1 so seeing gold in arpg feels strange at this point. But it'll definitely make the game much easier to get into, hopefully won't sacrifice too much.

I must say, what pulled me away from playing Poe it's the fact, the chars look like a tiny hyper speed machine in LSD with so many light effects on screen. But this looks amazing. Hope they keep the style.

I'm impressed. It looks like a labor of love of people who played a ton of D2:LoD. This act is very similar to Act 3 in D2. Overall visual quality is clearly superior to D4. Additionally, they made GREAT strides in the animation department. All of the new combat animations look MUCH better than in PoE1. Monster designs are also on point. I especially like that monster sizing is more realistic, like in D2. It's also a fine idea to have a Monk class, since it was present in Diablo 1: Hellfire and in Diablo 3.

I'd agree with the sentiment about the visual quality feeling better than D4, especially the special effects, animations and overall rendering. It really does feel like the spiritual successor to D2. However, i do think D4 has more creative set dressing than what this trailer shows. The environmental elements here do look a bit overly repeated. I think D4 perhaps has better artistry whereas this has more technical immersion.

​@@sum8601 Eh... I'm not sure this looks better. Both games look great. I think PoE maybe did better with the graphics relative to their budget than D4 did. Their animations are cool, the way the frost built up on the boss, stuff like that... That said, I think D4 looks a bit better overall, fidelity wise, its very crisp, and super clean. Here in this video you can see where corners were cut. Imagine PoE designers with Blizzard budget :p best of both worlds.

I've been grinding D4 since release but it really lacks end-game content. Its almost all hinged on dungeons at the moment and they have only alluded to new content in season 3. Looking forward to PoE 2 and hopefully a more diverse choice of activity.

I absolutely love how every mechanic has gameplay implications, and it seems they've been exceptionally thoughtful with how all those systems will play into/with one another. D4 is full of so many half-thoughts. Everything feels like it's a first-pass in it's implementation. Sad for Diablo fans, super exciting for PoE and general ARPG fans tho!!

It's free to play so you can play now with no loss. You may find you want to pay for more storage but any MTX's you buy will carry over to POE2. Buy a supporter pack - full points value and extra cosmetics, and buy your storage tabs during a sale.

I love how they do skill effects in POE. I'm currently playing D4, its been great but something about it feels bland, kills don't feel satisfying, i got a few unique items but they are not necessarily the best. They released a good number of skins but it doesn't look epic enough it cant even compete side by side to current POE skins. i hope it improves
