I cannot imagine the amount of work needed to put something like this together. Fantastic stuff. As a PoE noob who only recently shored up enough courage to dive into it, it's awesome to have an understanding of the immense amount of lore for the game. Definitely deserving of a sub. Thanks!

I think you answered your own question on why Doedre was in the sewers, it connected to every part of the city. Honestly she comes off as a serial killer who just likes messing with magic to find more creative ways to kill people. I also think that's why maligaro turned on her, as crazy as all the thaumaturgic researchers were they all had some sort of end goal was just Doedre was just pure chaos and carnage

1:07 "...Penance Quay" Quay is pronounced "key". If it helps, the original spelling actually was key (until around 1690), before the French came along and muddled English even more than it was already. The word itself is so old (proto-celtic) that many European languages have "key" pronunciation forms in their own languages. Edit: I appears you became aware of the correct pronunciation, as it was done perfectly ~ 36:58 Thank you for these videos, I enjoy them very much.

It's actually worse than that. They were literal partners in crime and not only did she leave him, she intentionally bound him and told the authorities where to find him so he could be exiled. All in all that level of betrayal was probably worse than death.

Sorry for long response... but, long video, and love learning lore for every game I enjoy playing, so loved your videos! Looking forward to watching more of them. But, here are my thoughts on possible explanations for some things: What if Veruso had only banned the Virtue Gems (and possibly other things) only after he used the device and had his vision. Knowing how he tried to use the Ankh after she died... I could easily see that, while he told HER she was peaceful and in the wedding bed, he would then move to get rid of all the things he might view as part of the same 'concept' as that device- as an attempt to stave off and prevent what he saw in the vision. But, then, when the vision still comes to fruition, the pendulum in him swung all the way back, and he reached to the Ankh out of momentary insanity, desperation, and more. Possibly even realizing that it might have been his actions in banning that led to her death. As for Sin and Innocence... I don't really see them as Good and Evil, but more Law and Chaos. Mankind is not exceptionally obedient in real sense of things. We have far too many differences, diversities, ways of thinking, religions, and so much more. How to have a universal system for all of that? Also- not all of it is good, not all evil... some of both, 6 of one, etc. But, Innocence... there's a reason why the Templars are all for him. They seek to have the entire world living under one rule, following a single set of principles, etc. And, they don't really care what atrocities they inflict along the way. So, 'good'? I don't think so. Further, while Evil or Good really cannot exist without the other... existence would inevitably adjust and a replacement would be found. It's a morality. However, when 'Law' or 'Chaos' disappears? One of two things is almost immediate, with exceptionally little time to try and fix it. Either all of everything begins siezing and contracting into a 'harder than diamond' solidity, and all of everything living just lives every day the same, with no alteration; or, all of everything begins to fly apart in random and violent ways, with all of the living things most likely mutating in wild ways that might not even have a way of continuing to survive (like, can't breathe, blood turns to acid but no evolution to handle, etc). Law and Chaos aren't really moralities... they are universal elements that hold everything together while allowing for constant change. It would explain why the Mother had 2 children before living beings of any kind were created (aside from those 3 entities): because they were absolutely crucial to even the basic level of existance of the universe itself.

Random thought: Innocence decides to travel "as far south as one can travel in such a fleshy form". What if he ends up finding Kalandra and the lake?

Let's be honest, POE's lore could be solid base for a show like GoT, and Arakaali's plot would be "that" part of it 🤣
