Kansas is a difficult ship to play the right way. But boy when you do it's so much fun. With the commander inspirations I have I have a 33.4 SC reload. And although that's still slower than most her tier she'd come up against. Her shells when aimed the right way can straight up delete people. And if they are not deleted, they are severely damaged. Good video and great advice Spartan! 👍✌️

When u do find someone that can. U can't citadel this thing. The first time I played against this thing. I was in n Carolina. I smoked this from every angle at every way I could think. At ever possible range. Point blank all the way to 15 km. And just couldn't citadel this thing. In 15 salves I did 4 k damage. Ya... fuck that swimming tank

@@r.a.panimefan2109 honestly I'd say that your experience here is not unlike mine. I absolutely hate going up against the Kansas especially in anything not armed with 406's. 356mm(14in) just bounces off the thicker armor, and anything that does pen, is overpenned. A real PITA if you ask me. But it's definitely fun, you have to get up close to islands as quickly as can be and then cut out angled away from the island to get your shots off at what are now broad siding cruisers and BBs. You definitely want to support your DDs with this ship

The AP shells hit for less because the shells are lighter weight. The ships the Kansas is based around the Tillman designs back in WW1. Hopefully that clears things up 😁👍

The Kansas was based on the 1920 South Dakota, the next ship on PC the T9 Minnesota was Tillman 1 and the T10 Vermont is Tillman 4

Althrough i didn't like it that much at the beginning, man i love this ship now, i got a reload build with 31sec (Revel and Maden maxed out inspirations) and its GLORIOUS i can't put less than 100k per games, only drawback it doesn't get enough citadel hits but then it would be op, one of the strongest tech tree tier 7s and a fun ship while different from the rest of the pack And that golden eagle camo is lovely i had to buy it !

Just got this ship today, and in my very first battle (against AI bc thats how i always start a new ship) i hit a broadside Nagato with 9 shells. 6 pens and 3 overpens, no citadel, but still took away just over half her HP

Fought a very good Kansas the other day in Iowa and barely won the fight thanks to using a Dispersion/Reload build with good angles. When Kansas is played right, only fools scoff at it.

Hey spartan do you think Battlecrusiers could be built and used today? Battleships cannot be re activated because they're to big and slow (iowa class was not slow but you know what i mean) but they had high cal guns, but what if we make battlecrusiers? They have cruiser size, and speed, while with todays tech we could have missiles and 200mm guns on the ship while keeping around 30-35 knots?

I mean the super ships just aren't needed anymore. You take a carrier and surround it with cruisers and DDs and Subs that's all the firepower you need

A bit like the Colorado, you can get citadeled but they are rarer than the japanese battleships for example although even if u don't get a citadel you can smack this thing 10-20k so it's not too important, at least u can heal it back tho,

In the vid you say the extra reload time is due to the extra 3 guns needing more time. Now I know WG did this as a benefit (more guns) drawback (longer reload) to help balance out the ship. But in actuality this would not be the case. The reload would be the exact same as the Iowa. Each turret has its own loaders, so a 3 gun turret takes 30 seconds to reload regardless of how many it has. Its not like the loaders had to run from turret to turret to load all the guns. It could have 50 (I wish LOL) 3 gun turrets and it would still only take 30 seconds.

Honestly Kansas is just a thiccer Montana cus Montana has the same guns as Iowa, as well Kansas has the same guns as Iowa. So yeh. I compared the two and it's the same guns as Iowa in game.

Kansas never really existed. The 1920 South Dakotas were still Panama canal capable--that means 109' beam max. Montana would have had a 121' beam. The ship we have is WG interpretation of what the 1920 SoDaks might have looked like if they'd be refitted along the lines of California/Tennessee/West Virginia (114' beam). Lastly, it doesn't have the same guns. I know what the game says, but these ships would have had the Mk2 gun and they do have the 2250lbs AP shell, not the 2700lbs AP shell.

Kansas guns =/= Iowa or Montana guns. Why? Even tho it says they have the same guns doesn't mean they fire the same shell. I'll simplify it. Iowa or Montana fire 18-wheelers for shells. Kansas fires cheap Chinese bicycles. Iowa or Montana has phenomenal penetration at range along with Massa or Bama. Kansas will shatter or bounce at range so the guns aren't the same. Kansas has Colorado guns and not the big boy guns Monty, Iowa, Bama, Massa, or NC bc these ships fire the infamous Super heavy shells. Kansas doesn't.

@@godzillaiv2096 Kansas' guns are a 16"/50. They aren't the same as the Colorado, but the do fire the same shell at substantially higher velocity. Most of these guns found their way into shore batteries after the ships were scrapped.

@@godzillaiv2096 Not to get too far into terminal ballistics, but Kansas' Mk2 guns have the highest penetration of all these mentioned. Keep in mind the super heavy AP is meant to attack deck armor at extreme range. Otherwise, it's at a pen disadvantage against vertical armor at moderate ranges--ranges where battles were actually fought--although penetration is so high at this point that we're beginning to debate how many angels can dance on the head of a piercing cap.
