@dorolicious5 ай бұрын
I kinda feel that. Not a bullet but I had a bike accident a few years ago, where a car passed too close and grated me next to tramway tracks and a construction side. My bike got into the rails and I scraped across half the construction site. While the driver just drove on, the next car stopped and pulled my bike off the tracks while I limped to the side and checked my injuries. Now, I grew up in a strict mariner household, so I just mounted my bike and drove home to treat my injuries. After two months, with a swollen foot and festering wounds, I decided to get my leg checked, because the shinbone still hurt a lot and had a weird bump. The emergency surgeon was furios! 😂 He scolded me so thoroughly to at least come to the ER at the same day of an accident and not months later, because there's nothing he can do now if my leg was actually broken and healed in a weird way. Not to mention the other issues like swelling and festering wounds. 👀 I did improve though! Nowadays I go to him on the same day after an (very hurtful) accident! He never mentioned it has to be immediately and that I couldn't run some errands before that. Or how severe the accident has to be. 👀 (Have some shoulder and back issues after I fell and crashed into a kitchen cabinet a few weeks ago, but shhhh!!!) 😅

Reminds me of when I accidentally cut my hand open really deep while de-boning a chicken, wrapped my headband around it to apply pressure and stop the bleeding, finished making dinner, and then I glued it up myself... my partner (he's male, I'm female) was not too pleased with how nonchalant I was about that injury. I have carpal tunnel in both my hands, so hand injuries dont tend to be very painful, especially after surgery. I also self harmed as a teenager and never sough medical help, taught myself how to suture, realised it was easier to just glue it up and most injuries I get nowadays are just fixed with a thorough clean and some super glue, then covered with a bandage. I always have super glue somewhere, because I am heavily prone to doing stupid shit. Yet, if my partner got a similar injury at work I would be all over him trying to fix him up, while this poor man has to refrain from looking at my wounds or he might throw up... anywhere else on my body, he wouldn't have an issue with, but hands are a big no-no for him. One thing I cannot deal with is broken bones. I will throw up or at least feel very ill if I saw someone's bone sticking out. I've never broken a bone but jesus christ it terrifies me.

One of the most USA stories of all time. Not that we can talk in Australia. My nephew was bitten by a red back (similar to the US black widow) and just toughed out the bite at his in-laws. He was luckily OK, since they can deliberately vary the amount of venom in each bite and she’d only been scaring him away, so it was very lightly envenomed. (The venom is excruciatingly painful, so it only takes a little to teach a big animal to stay away.) But it was still an extremely foolish thing to do.

Ah, of course, i knew the "but why now?" was because of the missus.
@linmonash12446 ай бұрын
When the future missus finds out why he has a big ole hole in his forehead she might decide NOT to become his missus! Would he wait a couple of months before taking his future son to the ER, if he 'accidentally' shot him?!?

My grandmother (born c 1915) lived most of her life with a 22 cal in her head from my great uncle (he was 9 when he shot his 5 y/o younger sister.) 15 years later she graduated Highschool two years early went to work for the telephone company and supported her family through the Great Depression. Gramma was a badass Sweet home Alabama
