This is like if when KD hit that shot game 7 vs the bucks with his foot on the line to force ot he just screamed at the refs then post game said it was the wrong call because it woulda been cool if it was for the series 😂 Like this isn’t a subjective penalty like pass interference or roughing where it’s on the refs to make a judgement call. "So offsides he blocks our view of the ball..." speaks for itself lol
@JeremiahLOsborne
@JeremiahLOsborne Жыл бұрын
And that's why the rule exists. Because the movement of the ball is what begins the play, and every defensive player on the line of scrimmage must have the opportunity to see the ball. The offense cannot block the ball before the snap. A receiver lining up in the neutral zone is off of his own side, and therefore the penalty of offsides is applicable. It's a penalty, and it doesn't matter if it happens on the first play of the game or the last play of the game. The referees are there to do a job, objectively and by the rules.
@TheYamahog12

Because defense reaction is based on the action of the offense, if a WR is offsides, they have better time doing his action before the defense can react, but also it blocks the defense from seeing where the ball at, more specifically, DBs, they can't tell where the line of scrimmage is at and could be offsides cause of it

True. I used to umpire fast pitch softball. I can remember quite a few times that a player would screw up, and the coach would come out and argue with me. Then, after the game, the coach would take me aside and explain that he was only trying to take the heat off his player. Maybe it was for the player, maybe so the teammates wouldn't turn on her, maybe because the player's parents were crazy. Either way, I get it. Taking verbal abuse is literally part of the job. If it helps shield the player from some kind of potentially traumatic abuse over a game, I'll gladly take the fall for them.

The bills had a couple penalties throughout this game that was downfield and had nothing to do with the play the game but gave the Kansas City Chiefs first down I don’t hear them bitching and moaning and declining the penalty because the penalty didn’t affect the play the game. The play itself should have also been flagged. Obvious illegal pick set by Toney. He was supposed to rub Kelce's defender (Benford, #47). @@FireworkMerchant Because he was not out of bounds yet. You know it is not a late hit until he is out of bounds. He was not sliding to down himself. He was in bounds. The defender was trying to tackle him in bounds so the clock keeps running. If the league is ok with being tackled in bounds. Then there is a major problem. Also what happened to the on step rule. And no one can rightfully and truthfully say he was out of bounds. The Chiefs were given the last two games of the year last year. The AFC and Super bowl game, by the refs or the league. I am in belief that it is coming from the league. Wanting him to be the poster boy for the league. After the outrage in the Jets game this year. The NFL will not be on my tv the rest of the year. And no i am not a Jets fan at all. I am a thru and thru Dolphins fan. But the calls in that game did me in. Not saying the Jets would have won. But the calls made in the game made sure the Jets had no chance of getting the ball back. Then the icing on the cake. The ref coming up talking to Mhomes. When i seen that i called out the next play and penalty coming. Now if i can sit on a couch and call a penalty on the very next play and what the penalty will be. That is not right. And the push back from fans after that game. Then the late hit on him when HE WAS NOT OUT OF BOUNDS. Seems the league senses things and now the Chiefs arent getting every single call in every single game. But the playoffs will tell the story. Will they be given the AFC and Super Bowl again. Only time will tell.

Except with other teams, they have legitimate complaints about the calls. This call was correct, and very obvious. We would be outraged if the Chiefs were allowed to get away with something yet again.

@@B3Bandthe offensive offside on the goal line Lions/Broncos game was ridiculous. If I was a Broncos fan I’d be pissed.

@@Jon-fh6nfagreed but with how both teams were playing I couldn’t see the broncos getting back in that game

Can we get a video comparing the holding call in the super bowl last year to this call??

Amazing to have competent refs who actually made the call.

Competent? Toney had lined up that exact same way like 4 or 5 times that game and the refs never called it once. That’s inconsistency which makes them very incompetent. Y’all give refs way too much credit

Lmao, so competent that they missed (or allowed?) it 5 other times throughout the game? How competent of them to fail to set a precedent for 3 hours on live TV.

Instead of helping the Chiefs with BS calls like they usually do. I see you have a couple newbie Chiefs bandwagoners responding to you. Have fun with those stubborn weirdos.
