Lovely video as always. That little spot you stopped at before the climb up to your pitch site is an absolute stunning little spot! shame it was so wet for you, your outer clothes looked wet through once you had got the tent up! Hope you warmed up inside the tent. Great to see you out on the hills again. Until the next one, take care. ❤️xx

It feels as if you get to experience the adventures without having to be there yourself. I miss the videos about the culverts and the tunnels. Thanks for taking the time to produce these videos.

Thanks for this, Pat. Even though it's a bleak time of year , the views from up there are, in their own way, still quite something to behold. I remember when me and our kid first started on the railway, we were learning the roads around Wath and Tinsley . It was ALWAYS grey, freezing and bleak . I therefore always associate this with Yorkshire.Don't be offended , Lancs, especially Manchester was always more grim. Fortunately, there were always welcoming 'establishmernts' in these places where one was always made welcome, despite being interlopers from across the border ! A regular was a John Smith's house close by Wath yard, where much fortification was taken onboard for the trip home, before this practice became 'verboten'. Happy daze, and I still have a ceramic ashtray from ther in my bedside accoutrements, for odds and ends.Since those days, I've learned to see the beauty of bleakness. Still, sunny, hoy blue sky stuuf is most welcome. I remember , at age 13 or 14, my Mum took me and our kid to Benidorm, where we marvelled at the mild, warm weather, and the fact that bar staff had no qualms serving beer to 'sprogs'. We were taken to a bodega up in the hills near Malage, the name of the place escapes me just now . We encountered Sherry there .I could tell more , but modesty suggests not! Thanks for the effort you have put into this vlog, as well as all your others, we appreciate it. NigeH. P.S......Are you going to Barrow Hill this year?
@patrickdickinson64925 күн бұрын
Hi Nigel and nice to hear from you, Benidorm at a young age must of been a great adventure, and a great introduction to the better things in life wether sherry or beer. Whenever I camp high up on Bleaklow the weather has the last word wether wind rain or snow it is always a challenge but feels so good after the little adventure. Should be going to Barrow Hill this year, tend to aim at a Friday as there is a 50/60's group called Rocks and Frocks that perform in the consevatory type area which my wife likes to dance to, but plenty of time for supping beer, may see you.....all the best Pat

@patrickdickinson6492 cheers Pat. I really meant it when i said youre an inspiration. Ive lost 3 and a half stone since August last year. Ive done this because i went for a walk up Cwm Idwal with my son last year and it nearly killed me. It made me realise just how much id let myself go. I still loved the walk and the achievement of doing it and obviously having my son with me was even better, but he is 20 and fit as a fiddle so i felt like i held him back. Now im really looking forward to this summer and getting out there again. May even visit your way because it looks so beautiful, we have Wales and Snodonia on our doorstep so im looking forward to exploring! Cheers Pat.

The weather’s crap, its been crap for a while, pay day can’t come soon enough…and then a ray of sunshine appears in the form of Pat Dickinson in the Peak District. Happy Days! Another great camping adventure Pat, what a great way to round off the week. If you’re looking for a bigger tunnel tent I can recommend the Nordisk Oppland 2 UL. Incredible size to weight but the price has sky rocketed (I paid 550 on sale). Or a fellow camper and good friend bought a Stoic Fasta ext 2 UL, for a fraction of the price of some of the others, but from what I’ve seen when we’ve bene out it has all the features with excellent finish and material quality.

Thanks for enduring the wet wet wet for us. Great to be shown over the Bull Stones and Crow Stone formations they are on my this year's must camp at list this year and now I know how to find the famous Bull Stones Spring. Thank you. By the way you're mad! making your speedy descent down at the end. Do take care.

Hi Patrick, a nice little camp in far from ideal conditions. I don't know how you have the energy to keep back tracking to retrieve your camera and do the climb as well as the decent. Keep up the good work that gives us an insight into such a beautiful part of the country.
