I remember seeing this and several others of her on Sunday night's when I was very young. (born 1952). She made quite an impression on me even then. I was very aware of a change in her appearance at a certain point, and that she wore a headband in at least one video, but I never knew why until recently. ( car crash June 14, 1961). The headband apparently helped to ease some pain she was still having. Just recently revisited her music, listening not once, but many times over. Her voice, with all its many nuances, is simply incredible.

This song makes me happy and sad at the same time. I’m 23 now but my mom absolutely adored patsy and I always hated it when I was younger but she passed away last year and this song brings so many memories of her back of listening to her records and cds I’m glad I appreciate this music now

A ghost soars thru you; it's her again! Angels chase her, such a divine soul. No star can resist kissing the dust left on those black cowboy boots for this soul spirit haunts the next 1000 years unmatched, beyond all souls, where the artists expression is born.

[Verse 1] I go out walkin' after midnight Out in the moonlight just like we used to do I’m always walkin' after midnight, searchin' for you I walk for miles along the highway Well, that’s just my way of sayin', I love you I'm always walkin' after midnight, searchin' for you [Chorus] I stopped to see a weeping willow Crying on his pillow And maybe he's crying for me And as the skies turn gloomy Night winds whisper to me I'm lonesome as I can be [Verse 2] I go out walkin' after midnight Out in the starlight Just hopin’ you may be somewhere walkin’ After midnight searchin' for me [Chorus] I stopped to see a weeping willow Cryin’ on his pillow Maybe he's crying for me And as the skies turn gloomy Night winds whisper to me I'm lonesome as I can be [Outro] I'm out walking after midnight, out in the moonight Just like we used to be I’m walking after midnight, searching for you

Alan Block lived next door to our family in Culver City CA, got into with his girlfriend and went walking the hood, came home, wrote the song. I was about 11. He was the older brother of the boys next door, probably 28, I didn't know ages, but he was old. The youngest bro told me about 25 yrs back now, that he'd got hard up, never thought the song would take off and sold the rights for a hundred bucks, gad I hated to hear that....
