Pattern Review - Experimental Space Evelyn Blouse

In this video, I share my thoughts on sewing the Experimental Space Evelyn Blouse. The fabric I used to sew this blouse with is from a Beyond the Pink Door Think Pink Sewscription Box. It is a Lady McElroy cotton lawn fabric. I purchased the pattern from Pattern Pouch Nest.

It took me a while to complete this project. I set it aside last year and picked it up just this month and completed it. Watch the video to hear all about this make.

It was worth the pain! Very cute. This is actually one of the few Think Pink boxes that I sewed up immediately. I got the black color way and did the Tilly and the buttons Mabel dress.

Nancy Zieman does a Pivot and Slide method and it is pretty easy to do If you only have a small amount to adjust.😊 You did a great job on that top.

Hi, Cynthia! Your blouse is adorable in spite of all the frustrations. I think you made a good call on the sleeve construction. That sounded much more complicated than it needed to be.

LOL. I agree the collar instructions and sleeve construction were more complicated than what they needed to be. After wearing this blouse, I love it even more. I may have to make another one (just not soon).

It turned out really well! I've had patterns like that where the techniques were not the way I was used to doing things. I think I would have assembled the lined sleeve and then set the whole thing in. Hand stitching a lining to an armhole would be really fiddly. That must have required a lot of patience. I really admire how you keep challenging yourself and improving your sewing skills. I really love this print, and I suspect it will get a lot of wear this summer.
