@@TerrariaGolem Yes, Gothic was a time period. There is a musical/fashion trend known as "Goth", popular among morose youth (as old as the tail end of the baby boom, as young as high school)... that is what I was referring to. @@spokenwordillusions5756 The video shows a beautiful woman doing cool music. My comment should not show that Patty Gurdy is a sex object. I find Patty Gurdy and the music very enjoyable. @spokenwordillusions57565 жыл бұрын
@@LSPProjekt when I view any video, I not only take in the video itself (visual and audio), but also the video description and the comments below. When Patty was with Storm Seeker, a lot of the comments basically kicked the rest of the band to the curb All those "fans" wanted was Patty. If it was about the music, the rest of SS would've been given props in a greater proportion. When she left SS, they finally got those props. In this song, the SS influence came, and I enjoyed her metal side. But reading the hundreds of reactions, lust bleeds through, calling her a "goddess", going Gaga over the new single. It's not about the hurdy gurdy, it's about the pixie outfit. A few who focused on the music rejected the metal side of Patty, they want only their image of her, that artsy-folksy style they're accustomed to. I agree with you: the image doesn't hurt, but is it the music or the image that is sought-after? If it's the image, then it will have many flocking to her concerts, but the CD sales will be paltry. As for SS, i still enjoy them.

all the people saying the vocals and gurdy are too quiet are missing the point of the balancing of the song, or maybe have headphones that smother those anyway and so the effect is worsened. The balancing is actually perfect on this piece in my opinion. I can see what people mean about the percussion overbearing both the vocals and the gurdy, but it's not done in a way that you can't hear them, it's done in a way that the percussion is the strongest thing, but it sounds wonderful and that's the point. Balanced doesn't mean equal, especially when trying to achieve an effect, and this sounded ethereal just the way it was done imo :)

Patty is crazy talented and I am fasinated with this amazing and mystic instrument. I can't get enough. I would pay any amount to see a live show with Patty. I wander what it would sound like for Patty Gurdy to team up with the harp twins. Maybe bring out Lindsey Sterling with her violin a few minutes after the sound adapted to each other. And then.....BOOM the two harps, the Hurdy Gurdy and the violin form a marriage together that would blow the minds of the eye witness. I love this stuff.

Always good fair lady. More prominent in this video, but rang a bell in some of your other videos as well. Whoever does the filming or editing really likes close tight shots. Funny because this can be as much a choice about the tone as it is about technical reasons (we need to crop out the power line and train tracks). Back when I was your age the other people with bands were only dreaming about things like being able to record and edit quality audio/video on a computer at home.

Agree. The mix engineer didn't do a superb mix here, it's a very quiet mix and her vocals are too flat. Poor Patty can't do everything herself, the mixer shouldve done a better job for her.
