@@kennyking4050 In 1982 I was 13 years old and listening to your music. One particular memory I have is getting on the public bus from Anaheim to Newport Beach, spending the afternoon with brothers and friends at the beach, checking out the girls and hearing The Warrior on our portable radio. Other memorable bands included Fleetwood Mac, Motley Crue, Ratt, Iron Maiden, The Police. So much good music came from the 80s. Admittedly, I appreciate the music more now than I did when I was a kid. Thanks for the memories.

Mr. McEnroe is, without doubt, THE luckiest man on earth. Patty is still a very talented, well rounded, and intelligent, woman. I’m. Really impressed with her ability to make so much of her continued success & with her strong marriage. As much as I’d like to be the one she married, I have to say “good luck kids” to she & John. It’s nice to see a functioning married celebrity couple. A couple that must be doing well, seeing as we never hear stories about ‘em in the tabloid. How boring for the press! 👍

Honestly, we were mostly buying tapes until the *mid* 80's, really. "Born in the USA" was the first CD released in '84, but most people just bought the tape, as record stores didn't really start getting CD's until late '84/'85 in a big way. It was sort of a novelty until around '85.
@bongodave133 ай бұрын
@@redadamearth I would record CDs so I could play them in the car. Car CD players became more common as the decade went on. I didn't have a factory standard CD player in my car until I bought a '17 Fiesta ST. I only use it on road trips, but it sounds better than the phone. I still get CDs of music I want for road trips. I've got all the Doors albums, and lots of other good stuff. Working on Motown now. You can't even buy a new car with a CD player now. It's all on the phone now.
@armybeef683 ай бұрын
You meant cassettes, and to touch on what "redadamearth" said, it didn't matter when a certain cd was released, nor does it matter when cd's in general were released, cd's stayed a novelty pretty much for the entire decade, that's because a cd would cost over $20 while the same exact album would cost $6.99 at Tower Records.

Any woman that can sing and dance at the same time while wearing heels has some real talent!

Im not sure one can say she danced well. But at least she moved around the stage unlike Belinda Carlisle who seemed to be glued to one spot when shw sang. Lol

Like everything on Bandstand, this was lip-synched to the studio track. She's was great, though.

the 50's and 60's were good, the 70's was great, the 80's were good and the 90's were good, but somewhere in between 2000 and 2010 music died, now it's just a hollowed-out shell of what it used to be.

WoW, I never seen this band before, but heard many times on the radio. She looks a lot like Ann Wilson, and Bounces all over the stage like Nancy Wilson. Wonder who her favorite band was? lol :) btw, that was a great song on the radio days too. :)

They sound as great live as they do on video!! Love Patty Smyth and Scandal. So many great talented artists got exposure on American Bandstand!!

I was born the day before this aired (12/03/1982). There were so many great songs on the radio at this time. Lionel Richie's "Truly" finished his second week at #1 this week, and Toni Basil would own the charts the next week. I came into the world hearing some great tunes!

I'm honored to call Keith Mack a friend. He has played with everyone from Joe Cocker to Cyndi Lauper. A truly amazing guitar player, and a down to earth, all around great guy.

This is gold for me. I remember bouncing around to this when i was real small! In my early years I always had a radio, and I heard this back in the '80's! Music still had an innocence back then. This is pop gold, and i love the interview!
