A brilliant actor and a thoroughly decent man. I enjoyed him in The Good Life and was marvellous as the incomparable Jim Hacker in Yes, Minister. People like him are still greatly missed Thanks for the memories Paul ❤ 😊

I absolutely adore him, such a gentleman and a wonderful actor. Yes Minister and Yes Prime Minister were outstanding and The Good Life was very good as well, I particularly loved the Christmas Special. If only there were more people of Paul Eddington’s ilk in the world, it would be a much nicer place to live in. He is so much missed. Irreplaceable.

Paul was a Quaker. He was asked what his epitaph should be and responded "He did very little harm". lovely guy.

I remember - he knew he was dying and on the radio someone asked him about his epitaph...and I'm sure this will not be verbatim but good enough and I've remembered it to this day.. He knew he was dying and someone said - how would you like to be remembered and he said: As having done little harm...as he thought so do I - we wade through life like baby elephants causing much harm...but after I heard him say this...I thought - yes. we should all hope that through this life...that we do "little harm".. He was such a good man..and a good actor...who, as he wanted, did little harm...

I don't think Paul fully understood her question about Margot. He responded as if he was talking about Penny Keith.
