I am 75 years old and loved the Paul Harvey time on the radio, let me share something that came to me through the word of God, the only begotten son of God was his word Jesus for God said I send forth my son not to condemn the world, but to save the world and God said I send my word and it comes back to me not in vain but fulfilled and John call Jesus the word of God and Jesus said I go unto my Father and your Father my God and your God brethren and he was not a shame to call them that, hope that in this you too can see why Jesus never call him self God or tried to make a name of himself just reminded the people they had a God that loves them !...

@staciehaupt2229 I first heard him at my grandma's house, as well. The noon whistle would blow, I'd run inside for lunch, and we'd listen to Paul Harvey on the AM radio. I'm almost 50 years old now & can honestly say those were the happiest times of my life.

Paul Harvey was quite amazing. Growing up in Corning, New York my parents never missed his broadcasts on our hometown station, WCLI, where I began my broadcasting career as a teenage DJ, Dec. 1955. Fast forward many years later and after several stops along the way I became a news correspondent on the ABC Radio Network. Harvey rarely came to New York but once he did in the early 70's and I got to meet him. He bought breakfast for all of us in the newsroom. It was a very "Good Day!" Bill Diehl, ABC News Radio. Sorry, my daughter was logged in to KZbin but this is from me.

The actual title of that parable is "The Man and the Birds" -- and Paul Harvey recorded a more polished version backed by a music track created by Bill Pursell and his Orchestra in 1975 for Word Records. That definitive version turns up in Hour 1 of the 10 hour Yuletide countdown radio special "The 100 Greatest Christmas Hits of All Time." Wink Martindale hosts the award-winning special which is syndicated around the world by Envision Networks.

Really...I got to find that. I've heard or seen many "self-made" videos..and wish I could read a third as well and get the message across.

The Paul Harvey LP on the Word label is called "Our Lives, Our Fortunes, Our Sacred Honor" and, needless to say, is not easy to find but you might locate one on half.com or amazon, com. The narrations on the LP cover a wide range of topics and "The Man and The Birds" is the only track with a Yuletide theme. As far as I know "The Man and the Birds" has only been reissued once since it's debut on LP and that was when it appeared on the Christmas volume in Reader's Digest Music's CD series "Reflections: Inspirational Words and Music."

Jesus was Jewish. And so were most of the writers, inspired by God, of the New Testament. I'm glad you're listening to the Christmas story here. And remember, no people group: Jewish, Arab, Asian, African, Indian, etc. has no monopoly on sin. We are all flawed and in need of a Savior. Please get rid of your hatred for the Israeli people. Your display of disdain for them, or anyone, makes your opinions you post here irrelevant. May God bless and guide you.

The man who stayed home shared my reasoning about religion, (but probably not God). I figured at the beginning of the story, the end would not stand to reason either. We are human, and God did not give us the brains of a bird. The man was figuring out reality, and that is what God wants us to do.

That GOD came to earth as a man in JESUS, must be the greatest blatant lie disseminated by Christianity, next to their portrayal of GOD as an INDIVIDUAL UP somewhere, in effect rendering the gullible "Believers" GODLESS, for GOD IS and IS IN ALL HIS CREATION. Any wonder why humanity is so lost and Satan inhabited, most mentally disturbed.
