priceless! I heard this live on a Christmas Eve when I was 6 years old in 1965. Tonight, Christmas Eve 2021, I am still as impressed by Paul Harvey as I was 56 years ago. Paul Harvey was a national treasure. Thank you for posting.

Oh what an awesome recording. I was born in 62 and used to sit with my grandpa at lunchtime listening to the great Mr Paul Harvey starting in 1967. I faithfully listened to the end. Good day ?

I remember listening to Paul Harvey do this broadcast on Christmas Eve 1964. I was 6 years old, and it was thrilling! I went to bed that night secure in the belief that Santa and his reindeer were on their way to my house. Listening to it now, 56 years later, it’s still just as real and just as believable as it was then. Thank you, Paul Harvey. ❤️

That's amazing. I was 2 at the time. I remember us listening to "Paul Harvey News and Comment" on the radio, but I don't think we ever heard any of his Christmas broadcasts. This is priceless. Thanks for posting.

Paul Harvey and his engineers actually took a eight-foot-diameter dish with them to assemble at the Pole and transmit the signal to the Early Bird satellite, which was launched earlier that year. That's why the sound quality was so good. (Otherwise, the signal would have had to be transmitted to ABC News Chicago by shortwave radio, which might have resulted in occassional fading in-and-out) I suspect millions of children were enthralled with this broadcast.

How true!! I lived on the Navy base at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba in the 50s. We had no TV but we had radio! After school children's programming was on the air. They had stories and music. In the evening they had great stories. I liked " The Shadow" and "Inner Sanction" ( that's tge one that started with the sqeaky door!!) Your imagination took over. You just knew what each character looked like. If you heard a dog or cat, you knew what color that critter was. There are places you can buy those wonderful radio programs. Get them and pkay them on your next long car trip. It makes the time go by quickly.☺️☺️

Just because you have No imagination for Santa Clause. Too bad you put down decent people & Paul Harvey was the best. He believed in the best of a person, very few due anymore.
