SS comes from a flawed premise, (socialism/communism), and could do nothing but fail over time. "If it was a sound investment, they would not need to put a gun to your head to participate." (Drew Carey) Stolen money is nothing you can count on the thieves to give you back, even with no interest. It has proven to be just more communistic theft and redistribution, (of course to the politicians who enable the theft). The results are in.

Deflecting one issue to another does not change the import of the first issue. But you bring up another relevant point; Today cheating, evading, avoiding, Federal taxes costs the US TWICE as much as this megalithic military we have. (And that military spends as much as the whole rest of the world spends on military.) Think about that the next time you are cheating on your taxes. This nation cannot, will not survive if its citizens insist upon being dishonest And, it is not surviving

And you would think that Military budget would be reduced if we saw the receipts of our elected selling what we produced to our enemies all over the world. Social Security is not perfect, but it serves it purpose; to give people some sort of income when they get old. In reality that money is still not enough to get by, I was once told to invest in 401k and all that to supplement your retirement... Life will always cost money to live...SAD BUT TRUE

The great socialist idea you depended on turned into poverty causing redistribution. Maybe if I could have kept my money, I could have invested in myself and not fall to poverty in the elderly years. SS helped guarantee that my retirement and my funeral will be the same day. But I enjoy my business and at least I will not grow old board or dependent. I think we are finding out that we trusted a bad baby sitter. So lets reject the baby sitter, and demand our free enterprise back,---because we all could have done better with out the theft and redistribution, (no only SS).

The problem with Harvey's point is that people paid for the social security benefits that they now receive... whether they wanted to or not. The Government, rather than simply putting their money in an IRA-type account and letting it draw interest for the people to live on when they retire, spent their money on wars and other programs and the money they paid has been spent. Now, the taxes their children pay are what pays the retirement they are owed.

That father isn't going to live to 95. Most likely he will die about 73. You forget the third of the population that pays into social security but dies before collecting. Social Security has trillions of dollars in it. Enough to pay FULL benefits until 2045. And then 70% benefits forever after that. If you lift the cap (currently someone making $2 million and someone making $110,000 pay the same in Social Security tax) then the program is financially solvent forever. Just lift the cap.

Social Security is nothing more than Social Insurance. You pay into it so you can collect in the event that you survive your working years. Depending on the length of your life you could collect less that you contributed to the fund, but also you could collect more if you had a long life. That's why it's an insurance. It helps in your waning years. It's not a handout from goverment since you had money siphoned from your paycheck for a long time and now you get back some of it. Contrary to what you may hear it will never get you rich.

That's not a problem with my point. If the government had just forced people to buy an IRA and deposit the same percentage of our earnings in it, you'd have more money in each private account than the average recipient receives in their life time. I know my father would have to live to be 93-95 to "break even" with the unadjusted cost of social security. Add in lost compound interest on a private account (Like an IRA) and it would be insurmountable.

The baby boomers have been the best educated generation in this country so far with the highest income and the highest standard of living. The money this generation paid into social security was enough to pay for our parents' generation to receive benefits (along with what they paid into the system themselves) and the remainder should have been invested by congress to generate future income for the large numbers of boomers who are now either retired or retiring soon. The money was not invested, but was used by Congress for projects for which it was never intended. When Bill Clinton paid down the national debt, he then said he would next tackle securing Social Security. The Republicans blew a gasket. Social Security has been mishandled. It's a necessary Federal program, along with Medicare, and without it taxpayers would be paying benefits to many retirees in the form of welfare and Medicaid. I like Paul Harvey, but I heartily disagree with him on this point.

If Reagan hadn't changed the Social Security Trust laws in secret, in the middle of the night, his "borrowing" would have been illegal. George HW Bush "borrowed" more, and Dubbya "borrowed" A LOT! I wonder how these self proclaimed conservatives convinced themselves and their supporters that it was okay to extremely liberally dip their all too eager, sticky fingers into bank accounts that legally, monetarily, morally, and ethically belonged to other people. I wonder when, if ever, their party will ever repay one single dime that they stole from the American people. Chances are much greater that Hell will freeze over before that day comes.

This aspect, of Sun in conjunction with partner's Saturn, is an indication of permanence and stability in the relationship and may imply karmic or past-life contact. You came and took my stability to build yourself ? On 10-22-2018 well This opportunity I’m Gotta say I love it and I’m taking 3303 million for returning your instability your structure your bank account have been seized for the rest of your life you want to teach me something you forgot I’m older wiser and hears your school good luck my Job is to make sure you learn the hard way ! You will also find awareness of limitations and responsibilities. The two of you together can be very dependable and productive. Some restructuring will occur for Maranda, who may learn needed lessons of discipline through Ranae. There will likely be a peak for success, when there are transiting aspects from outer planets to this point of your natal charts. In a romantic connection, That video coming for my money 3303 million and your bond to stay out of prison next 25 years and you have a warrant for your arrest for wrong full death malice and Endangering the life of my children .! Agent Federal Agent Stewart of the Las Angelous Branch has the Will to come get you now.! Very un practical move you done hear for one and I’m going to love watching you go penny less!! this aspect symbolizes much wisdom and practical caring for each other, which is good support for a long term commitment such as marriage. The key is to balance energy from work into play, and creativity into directed concentrated effort, as each of you leads the other into joyous responsibilities, and responsible joys. There is an implication of limitations and boundaries expressed in your partnership with each other. It is possible you may experience isolation or financial hardship as well, through this relationship, which nevertheless can lead you to positive outcomes. Perhaps the limitation and structure imposed by this relationship is a necessary one for your growth and evolution into new paths, both individually and with each other. With this aspect, also, you will find practical wisdom and even leadership in high degrees. Some extra doses of worthwhile hard work are also indicated, perhaps especially for Maranda. It takes allot of work to Be Ranae and your going to figure out the hard way it takes work and now making license plate for my new fleet of cars coming in will be your future and you can become a professional cigarette butt pick up woman .! This can be a sobering connection between you, but one which enhances both partners' empowerment and purpose. Sometimes these roles get reversed, but generally speaking, Ranae gives light and leadership to Maranda and is allowing and forgiving toward, Maranda serves to facilitate greater focus of Maranda's more widespread and expansive consciousness. In this case she’s using emotional manipulation and abuse to over power Ranae but sometimes you got to get your teeth kicked in your pelvis bone separated and kicked in by a steel toe boot coming for you but shhh keep it a secret .!! MY NATIVE BITCHES GO HELP YOURSELF BOYS GIVE IT TO HER IN HER ASS SHE LOVES HER PUSSY .!! Aspect details: Ranaes Sun in strong conjunction (within 0.2 degrees) with Maranda Saturn.

The problem with Social Security is that it wasn't done correctly and now we have to deal with it - even though we already paid for it. FDR and his New Deal should be looked at with the same disdain that Bernie Madoff is currently. The many people who got into it at the end get left holding the bag with nothing in it. (Isn't if sad and ironic that a guy that almost made off with all that money is named Madoff?)

Social security is attached to those who are liable for income tax. Most Americans are not liable for income tax. Those who are not liable will argue all day that they are liable, even though they've never read the law lol. Women with young kids especially like income tax because of the big check once a year, lol .

Mr. Harvey would have a heart attack if he knew about Federal deficits and national debt in 2022. The US has added an average of more than $1 trillion in debt every year of the 21st century - and the maniacs in Congress won’t stop.

What does that have to do with Social Security?
@clarino2
@clarino2 2 жыл бұрын
@@xx5zi Absolutely everything. Did you not hear Mr. Harvey say that most Americans at that time thought that taxes were too high? And didn’t you hear Mr. Harvey talk about the deficit? It’s the fact that Americans want entitlements like Social Security but don’t want to pay for it that causes the national debt spirals out of control. Did you hear Mr. Harvey use the phrase “national bankruptcy”? That is where the US has been headed for decades due to massive never ending entitlements like Social Security and now so-called student loan forgiveness. Nothing is free and the rich won’t be paying for it. And so you know, the richest 5% already pay 54% of all tax dollars. The already pay more than their fair share.

@Fritz Schnauzer You don't really know how Social Security benefits are funded, do you? I know Harvey did, but then again, if he told the truth, you'd be a better educated person.
@clarino2
@clarino2 2 жыл бұрын
@@xx5zi Wow, you’re quite the condescending prick aren’t you? I do know how SS is theoretically funded because I have been paying into it for more than forty years. The problem is that those funds, which were supposed to be set aside, have been long since depleted by what is essentially misappropriation by the Federal government. Combine that with the ever-increasing number of people who receive benefits with not enough people paying in, there is a constant short fall that is paid via borrowing, or paid by redirecting real dollars money away from other activities that are then paid via borrowing. No matter how you slice it, dice it or rationalize it, there’s not enough money in the country to maintain these levels of Federal spending. Our moron leaders from both parties keep kicking this can down the road but eventually there won’t be enough tax revenue to pay interest on the national debt. That’ll be funny. Going to block you now troll.

Any 5 year old kid would call it the theft it really is, before the kid is conditioned differently in school. How does that make you feel, 5 year old kids having morality that our elected do not have? It does not matter who takes what you earned from you. Theft is theft, and any child knows that. it does not get any more accurate than "theft", and redistribution. Where did the idea of theft from free enterprise and redistribution come from? The philosophies of Individual liberty protected by law, or socialism/communism? Does "theft" sound like Individual liberty to you? Ask a 5 year old kid who earned anything. It is amazing how moral young kids usually are.

Social security always was and is a p9nzi scheme. Current retirees are paid from currently working people. It was also setup so that most people would die before they hit the retirement age. As more people live longer, that changes the amount paid out each year. The answer was and still is privatization of the system. Money that i invest makes an average of 10% return over any ten year period. Money that was taken from me and my employer, makes about 1% return. For years, Galveston county in texas the county employees could stay out of social security and invest in their own retirement plan. They could have a higher takehome pay after retirement just by doing that.
