I was at this concert. 77 year old Paul McCartney played three hours of high energy music without a break. And his voice got stronger through the night. Music keeps you young.
@MissSicBitch4 жыл бұрын
Ekkie I saw him twice, in 2003 (?) and one of the songs he did wasn't particularly a major favorite of mine, until his live performance of it that night, "She's Leaving Home". It was..INCREDIBLE. The two part vocal of it, Paul: "She..." his band member sang: "we gave her most of our lives" Paul: "Is leaving" Band: "sacrificed most of our lives" Paul: " Home..." His vocals, just on that last word "Home" ...still til this day, gives me chills, a smile, AND tears all at the same time. If I live to be 100, I will always remember THAT moment as if it was yesterday and being one of the most beautiful moments of my life.

@@martifingers Oh, they realize their legacy was secure. In fact it was implied as if Paul (and the rest of The Beatles) made a point in the song that these legacy would made them "Carry that weight a long time". Probably aware that whatever they do after that could hardly surpass what they achieved together as The Betles. But Jim Carr right, Paul never dreamed that he would still active half century later. In numerous interview Paul said that he though 40 would be an age that he think would be to old as a rock star and that he may consider to retire. But then he enjoyed too much and just keep going and going...

@dennylibertario22465 жыл бұрын
Here's another view point on the "legend" adjective nonsense in relation to Joe Walsh. Mr. Fitz is absolutely right. Have no idea what Paul collaborated with Walsh on, and that alone is revealing....Walsh's sole contribution in the pantheon of rock music legend, lore and recordings is probably nothing more than the opening guitar lick on The Eagles' "Life in the Fast-Lane". Oh, and his Funk #49 Rolling Stones inspired guitar lick from his James Gang days. Theresa, you aren't much of a Beatles fan or authority if you exalt the stage walk-on by Walsh when McCartney and Wings are belting out Golden Slumbers and The End from Abbey Road. You don't have a clue how iconic those tracks are and the individually performed guitar parts of the Beatles on The End. To have that instrumental segue trivialized by McCartney and Walsh with all the silly gyrations, contortions, facial expressions and hand gestures is just a pure, unadulterated debasement of the original recording and a trashing of Lennon, Harrison guitar contributions. How dare you and Travis-picker attack Mr. Fitz....how dare you! And, I also take issue with your characterization of Joe Walsh as an amazing musician. What poppycock! The only thing amazing about Walsh is that he has remained alive as long as he has given his decades of anti-social behavior, drug and alcohol abuse....which is chronically on display whenever he opens his mouth. I'd suggest Theresa you grow a set and look back and get your musical facts straight before popping off on here with these silly emotionally-based, but objectively tortured assertions. You and Travis-picker desecrate all that is good about The Beatles, McCartney, Wings, Lennon, Harrison, Linda et al. with this shallow nonsense. Take it back...

If Sir Paul lives to be 120 he could be wheeled out onto the stage and whisper into the microphone and still sell out the crowd

WHen the Beatles started people from Liverpool said Paul could sing anything and make it a hit. SO he made a recording of Mary had a little Lamb. It was a hit .

I remember seeing Joe Walsh (as part of the trio The James Gang) back in Cleveland. They were the loudest band I had heard up until that time. And Joe's guitar playing was phenomenal. I think it cost $0.75 to get in.

Same here, I saw him at Chippewa Lake Ohio. Great times. I was around 11 years old. Early 70s.

To Ekkie,.. from 3yrs ago,.. - J.C. they played their god-dam hearts out in Hamburg,.. Pant, Pant,.. Paul had to build up a resilience,.. his voice was in demand. - I would've LOVED to see em,.. before they meant anything to anyone,.. those would've been the daze,.. forever lost now.

The one and only, beloved Sir Paul McCartney. 🙏 🎉❤ Love you Paul, so grateful for the magical music 🎶. Jamming with Mr. Walsh and the boys, on the classic- the End. Such a great unique jam of the Beatles. Each distinct guitar 🎸 playing. Fantastic. Beatles forever 🕉

He's quite a character...I was blessed to see him play with Glen Frey in the 3,000 seat Westbury Music fair, ( in the round) from the second row....this was in 1995 Joe was very funny when he talked to the audience between songs. He was also very drunk, but never missed a beat. Glad he got his act together.

It’s also remarkable that before the show, they piped in over an hour of Paul McCartney music (with the Beatles, etc.), and none of it was repeated in the concert! So, so prolific at such a high level.

Absolute legend! Great performance! Something should be said too about Paul keeping this same backing band for so long. These guys have all been with him for years, and it shows with their chemistry together.
