One of the best shows I've seen in a long time. And while I LOVE Marianne and Connell, if I were to answer who my favorite character is, it would probably be Lorraine, Connell's mom. She is both loving and supportive, but also not afraid of calling him out when he's being an ass. "I don't think it's bad you're feeling bad" and "my stupid teenage mistake was you my love" (I'm paraphrasing) were great lines

These two actors managed to show us the best tv series or movie relantionship between two people. Ever. Never seen anything as real as this. In fact, they're so good, it's making me wonder if it was an extremely conscious thing or just luck or something...Whatever it is, I've never seen two people belong to each other more (Conell and Marianne). This is what two parts of a whole actually means.
@annewas463 жыл бұрын
I have been thinking about this as well. Obviously, they are both naturally talented actors. But, did the fact that they were "new" actors help? I don't know. They showed maturity beyond their years. The show was/is excellent.

this show. While I was watching it I could actually feel the emotions, the same emotions I felt when I was 19 and fell in love so hard. The insecurity, the butterflies in my stomach, the frustration... Took me by surprise actually and made me very emotional. I'm in my 30's now and have never been in love since then. But I still love that person even if we're not together anymore, probably always will. Not sure I'll ever feel like that again but one can only hope...

he's amazing. and what a character. seeing a leading male character like Connell be so vulnerable and emotional was what kept me coming back for more. normally, if Connell was a stereotypical male role in dramas I would be bored as hell of the series because its about normal peoples' lives and constantly sad. but this series was so amazing because it felt new seeing a character like Connell
